Need one of those youtube videos thats solely focused on Roberts and what he did in pre-season with the good and bad. Didn't look out of touch and had some good build up today, would like to see him in his natural position as a RM/RW instead of a CM/CAM as he was played today in the midfield. Don't see Pep loaning him out since that will lower our forward numbers to 4 with Silva being able to play out wide if needed, but then that leaves 5 in the midfield. Even though Diaz and Foden looked good in pre-season they still aren't ready for the 1st team as well as having CL experience of actually performing well like Roberts.

Would be pointless for him to do another few seasons in Scotland, he definitely needs to be testing himself at a better level at this point for his development.

If we get into CL again that's a higher standard than the EPL. If you perform in that you get a move to better CL s.

The EPL has fallen down a hole these last few years and to be honest, is as boring as fuck to watch, most games anyway.

If he really wanted to progress Spain is probably the best option.

Why are all City's best young players attacking midfielders an area where as a football club we are ridiculously strong

I thought Roberts did OK in pre-season, but has possibly fallen behind Diaz and Foden who look certain now to be part of City's 1st team squad.

Although different players just feeel that Foden and Diaz are a level above. He's a good player but didn't take his opportunity as the other two, although to be fair did not have as much game time.

You're right, watching a team pegged for relegation win the league was so boring! Then last year watching Spurs and Liverpool score goals for fun while we played some of the sexiest football the division has ever seen, but ultimately not compete with the solidity of Chelsea was super fucking boring.

Talking out your arse mate, there's not a cats chance in hell we send roberts back to the SPL on loan and you don't have the money to buy him so its a total non story.

If the lad has any sense he'll ask to go to a top tier chamionship side, ironically Fulham are probably the best fit, a team that will let his attacking talents shine and either advertise him to a team his level or further prove to us he is capable.

Yes those game might have been great, I'm talking 8 out of ten games boring as fuck. No atmosphere, teams just cancelling each other out. Because of this I rarely watched a full game, tedious.

As for Roberts you're probably right about him not coming to us, but he is good enough for the Prem, the other 16 who have no chance of winning it I mean.

Ok the Foxes pulled it off, but that was one of those beautiful football moments that come around rarely.

The hype is strong with the EPL. Very strong. It hasn't produced a team anywhere near CL winning class for all its money.

Remains to be seen if you change that. The money is there, but the gap is wide and for the biggest, richest league in the world that's embarrassing.

Do you think your signings will take you to actually giving it a go and winning it?

What on earth do you mean 'it hasn't produced a team anywhere near CL winning class' ?

The scum have won it, chelsea have won it, the dippers have won it? All in the premier league era. Yeah no team has been close for the last five years but that's hardly an eternity and the really silly tv money has only been within a similar time frame. We came remarkably close under Pellers.

We probably have a chance of giving it a go yes, but the CL is so based on such small moments its difficult to say who has a chance other than a bag of the six or seven biggest teams. What group you get, which draws, how the fixtures fall, injuries and suspensions, how individuals perform on the night etc. Its one of the reasons I don't especially like the competition.

The Premier League can definitely claim to produce 'those beautiful football moments' a hell of a lot more regularly than any other league! Leicester 15/16 and the one before that being us in 11/12, if the dippers had held on in 13/14 after coming out of nowhere that would arguably have been one as well. Whats happened in the other top 4 leagues in that timeframe? Bayern have dominated, Juve have dominated, Real and Barca have carried on the to-me-to-you policy, and PSG have dominated with last year being a small hiccup.

I was referring to the last five years. All those things that make it difficult is exactly why it's so difficult and is more often than not contested by a group of five clubs.

As for winning it? I still don't think you will do it until your defence is sorted. Too easily got at. Wether what you have brought in is enough, time will tell, but I have my doubts.

I hope you do playing great to watch football, but, as I said, defence sorted or fail.

Bayern, Juve, Real madrid & Barca dominate their leagues. The Premier League does not have a team that is at their level at the moment, but it is seriously competitive. Only about 6 teams can win it, but the 14 below it are desperate to stay in it so you play them and they make it tremendously difficult. I think City are getting close to having a team who can win the Champions League.
