To be honest, what you've is said is a popular response whenever someone mentions a fourth choice centreback so I don't think it's as entrenched as you say.

Realistically, that's probably what we're going to end up with because I doubt we're going to go out and get someone in who will challenge Dias, Stones and Laporte for a starting role.

There aren't that many of that calibre lying around and the ones who are will cost a fortune.
