Pau Torres

I really like Jurrien Timber. There would be the usual questions about his height but I think he'd be a great signing if one of the others were to leave.

yeah Timber would be a cracking choice although im sure the new hero rag manager will move for him as well.

It’s a World Cup year, a lot of moves will based around that. Nothing is off the table

We don't need a left or right footed cb. The youth cbs we have are top class, end of!!! Mbete, callum doyle and thb all athletic, all strong, all composed, all good on the ball and all love city. Next 2/3 seasons there will be upto 7 academy players starting for us, most city fans.
Bazuna
Doyle
Mbete
Thb
Lavia
Mcatee
Palmer
Phil
Delap

All these kids are on the verge of 1st team squad, all nowhere near their potential. Personally I'd let ake or laporte leave as I believe mbete could be 4th choice cb. Callum doyle

There is no doubt of their potential, but the idea that we could let one of our four CBs leave and put a completely inexperienced kid is simply unrealistic. We play for the very top, it is absolutely normal that our team will be about getting the top talent around. That is just how it works. The Premier League will only get tougher and more competitive next season and in the ones after, and ditto for the Champions League. Every single one of our CBs needs to have experience and be proven because as this season has proven, they were ALL used in big games multiple times. The best thing we can do for most of the kids is loan them and let them have experience in the adult game, case in point one that you mentioned, Bazunu — whereas others, I would say, in their loans have shown they aren’t anywhere near ready for us. And in the event we can’t incorporate them into the first team, we can sell and make a profit. I fully understand the attachment so many have with the Academy kids (like you said, most are fans and love the club), but the expectations should be tempered, especially when it comes to thinking that they transition from Academy to professional game and perform the same. We play to win every title and to produce the best football around, that means a team of the very best talent, in which basically all players start for their national team and are ready for all situations. And sometimes even the very best won’t be enough for us, that’s how high the standard is. It is a ruthless business
