It's the functional role which will catalyse their whole play. They aint gonna be parking a "philosophy" in front of that goal no more.Except he's not a patch on Yaya.

Yep. It's all pretty tedious. They'll be happy it's dragging out because it means they'll continue to get wall to wall coverage. Nobody does that better than those sad sacks.I think people are clutching at straws if they think Pogba won't end up at United this transfer window.
I don't think there have been or will ever be another player like Yaya.Except he's not a patch on Yaya.

I get your point but you could easily turn that argument on its head. The extra time off could mean that when he returns he is fresher in mind and body and less likely to get injured than if he rushed back to Manchester to start training with his new team mates. In this scenario he may more than make up for any dropped points that may result from him delaying his arrival.I think Utd. are making a big mistake with this Pogba thing, but not the obvious one - the fact he was with them previously & the world record breaking fee...... If I may, I will try and explain.
The Premier League is so competitive these days, 2012 Ageuro and all that! Even last year, just one more point would have got them into the CL (at our expense!) Every minute of every game from 13.8.16 matters. Indeed, because of that, the pre-season games, especially the ones back in England, just before the season starts are important too.
Did Pogba play at Rooneys charity game tonight? 'No'. Will he play against Leicester on Sunday? 'Highly unlikely'. It is even questionable that if the transfer does go through later this week, that he will be ready for the 1st match (Bournemouth) on Saturday 13th August. Apparently he is on holiday until the 7th of this month!
Why did Utd. not put it to the agent and the player, that to make the transfer go through smoothly he should take a shorter break - say finishing at the end of July? In that way he could have played in a couple of pre-season games and been ready to start, when the season is scheduled to begin. I guess the fact they didn't, just shows how desperate they have become.
Imagine if a Pogba-less MUFC only scrape a draw against Bournemouth - who should be given a three goal head-start by-the-way, to make up for that bomb scare thing at the end of last season! Furthermore, imagine if you will, that he does Ok for most of the rest of the season, but those two dropped points cost them 4th in May 2017. He would then, as an individual, (as would the team), be looking at 2 years of no Champions League football - all because he was so selfish & he had to have his 2 weeks in America. It sums up what most people think, he is just a mercenary with no real affinity to the club that nurtured him, some might go further and call him a selfish cnut!
P.S. The funny thing is, they made a similar error in August 2014, buying Rojo - who then never actually appeared for about a month, 'legal issues' in South America iirc. I hope Pogba is as good as Rojo by-the-way, too!
Oops - whilst composing this message KCblue has basically said the same thing, in less words - Sorry, I'm a slow typist!

To be honest I think the main reason he is in no hurry is because the deal is not fully sorted and may run well into the month. Personally I would worry a lot about this guy if I was a rag on account of his close relationship with his agent . How long will it be before trouble from that quarter arises in rag town particularly as I think Pogba will believe that it is UTD that owes him on account of the way he was handled by Sir Bacon face a few years back. However, he will win them points and factoring in the arrival of PEG and the Swede the rags will certainly be top four next year but hopefully still behind us.
If two parties really want a deal to happen, they get one with striking a deal as quickly as they can.
One party really wants this deal, the other will probably take it if nothing better comes along. That can still work, but it's more than evident Pogba's in no rush.
Lined up to announce so they can parade him at the Community Shield on Sunday?
