Paul Simpson

We were kept in for an hour after the game I recall!
The only away game we had to fight thru a mob to get to the turnstile s went on Tommy Muir's double decker coach great win all the best simmo we're all rooting for you lad

Yeah that was the crucial win in the final reckoning. Easter Monday as I recall? The goal is on Youtube - the terraces were rocking
Don't think it was Monday did we draw at home on the Monday Oldham ? Before the Charlton game not done the research but Great day's the night finished in the star of India same as Bradford 89

Get well soon Paul, I forgive you for doing that jig in front of the City fans as Oxford went 2-0 up in a must win promotion game, City came from 2 down at HT to win 4-2. In all seriousness Paul, get well mate, blues are rooting for you.

Pompey was a Saturday - the Notts County game was on the Bank Holiday Monday

Paul Simpson, you are so well liked and when you read all the fine tributes to yourself and the many many fond memories we as City supporters cherish of your good self. you're not alone and we are here so remember that and good luck with your battle cos as we've seen you can win our friend. You only need to look at what you have produced at the present moment with the current England team and although as in most things we don't get too many plaudits as the Maine team in England you well helped in so many of this current crop of southgates without any acknowledgment and being a top. humble and quiet guy it ain't happening. Don't think people realise how many were your prodergys. Was there v germany on tuesday and thought of everyone in the City family too many good people to mention on and off the pitch who have left since covid. My Dad in April died and King Colin Bell just before. Will be there v Denmark and got one for Sunday. Good luck Paul, there was a pivotal moment in my life when I was at the match on the Kippax and you were the first player who was younger than me and that was weird but ace. All the best Simmo was at Pompey away, Charlton .....

Remember Him coming down to Fog Lane Park and taking training with my team at Beaver Road school 35 years ago! He gave us a load of JD sports key rings. Has a great career in the game. I hope he fights it well and is healthy again soon.
He lived on the wimpey and barratt estate off Burnage lane. Next to the old Renold Chain factory.
