Prices for that conference (and it is probably the dinner thats ticleted) will be decided at local level, and more than likely voted on at constituency level. Do you think every politiciian tgat is a key note speaker checks ticket prices for party events.
Only the local CLP needs to explain thia decission and if a complaint is made it will be then investigated, and trust me they do Gorton CLP was suspended and investigated 2 years ago after a complaint from a local member(s).

I have no leanings either way. I just find it weird that in a society that is trying to head to equality for all, black, white, men, women, this sort of thing is allowed. What does the colour of someone's skin matter at a rally? We need more BAME here, reduce the price? Utter madness.
More BAME and others would turn up if a) it was free and b) he had some policies that actually meant something.
