Pellegrini extends contract

Call ambulance for shalumtash

I think it's a good move mate, stops the press asking him questions about his future every week.

There's no doubt in my mind that Pep will be the manager for the start of next season.

Pellegrini either gets a nice one year golden hand shake, or a years semi retirement in Melbourne. He's a gentleman so he deserves that.

I do agree with this despite my doubts about him as a manager of the highest level.

A bit of a turn-a-round from a couple of months ago when more than a few were saying his position was untenable going into the new season

I really hope this is a smokescreen as some others have said. Buries the speculation about Pep somewhat, allows Manuel to avoid his position being undermined during the season, and at the end of it he can leave with a nice farewell and a little pay off from the club as Guardiola arrives.

I hope so anyway, we need someone to take us to the next level, that man isn't Pellegrini.

And I don't think it could be Vieira either, it has to be Pep.

As stated shuts the press up and takes pressure off the manager. Further if we do go for Pep next year, Pellers would receive a nice package of compensation which I would have no problem with.

That's the thing mate, people on here just think so black and white. They think you don't rate him so you must hate him as a person - but that's not the case at all.

I don't really rate him as a manager. I think he's too dogmatic with his footballing principles, he's not adaptable enough to be a world class manager. It takes him too long to identify problems in the team that need changing.

But as a bloke he seems absolutely lovely. He's very polite and respectful, I wish him every success and happiness.

And contrary to what some people seem to think, I'd love him to go out and win us the quadruple this season, of course I would.

Agree with this, its like sometimes he waits for things to fix itself. Hopefully he has learned from last season, if he has, then I think we have a successful season.

Good decision. I wouldn't be surprised if Pep signed one as well. I still expect Pep to be City manager next year though.

This will stop the speculation for a while and ensure some players don't take their foot off the gas due to it not being the managers final year (even though it will be).
