do you happen to drive a white van and have a large gap between your front teeth?

No I have good teeth. Drive a 320.

How's the jungle been treating you?
harsh but fair
Well done for taking it all in your stride. You may just prefer pre war to current day. Things are easily attained nowadays but the journey is over and fashion is a regurgitation of bygone eras. Every new footballer is the next so and so and will cost the same as a small island, having a set if tits and zero intelligence gets you rich and famous too. Enjoy 2013. (Demolition Man had it right).

George Hannah has made some excellent points - as you would expect from someone who has supported the club long enough to remember a great inside forward - and I think many of those who wanted to see the end of Roberto need reminding of a few more. The owner and board didn't get rid of Roberto to bring in Pep, or Mourinho, and many of the "outers" never considered Pellegrini until he was clearly the man the club wanted. Now, let's remember that our loyalty is to City rather than any individual and let's refrain from factious intrigue against the new manager. Some of those posting on here are not helping already. There is a tendency to suggest that the "Mancini years" are some dark tunnel from which we are now emerging to take our place in the sun. Well, we actually won our first trophy for 35 years, our first FA cup for 42 years and our first league title for 43 years in that time. And to hear some posters we did it with a centre forward whose first touch is abysmal, no width at all, a midfield lacking in creativity and so on. A wonder Mancini saved us from relegation! Especially after the mess made of the last August transfer window. The Mancini years are over, but they were years of substantial achievement, and we have world class players at the club. I hope the club and manager get the players they want this summer, whoever they are, and that they help us compete and play the football the manager wants but it is unlikely they will be better, individually, than the likes of Silva, Aguero, Vinnie, Zaba etc etc if they are as good. So claims that with Pellegrini we'll have the PL won by February are the obvious nonsense I hope they were meant to be.

Pellegrini seems to have many excellent qualities, he may even prove better for the club than Mancini but he will not be well served by the mindless, unrealistic expectations that give way, when we don't win the first ten PL matches outright, to disillusionment by November and calls for Mourinho or "Pep" or "anyone" by February.

Spot on. Mancini achieved a lot in his three years and leaves a fantastic base for Pellegrini to build on and the opportunity to achieve even more but its already been flagged his teams are slow starters so lets not start piling unrealistic expectations on the new guy before he's even arrived.

I am very comfortable that the press seem to be saying that Moyes is the better appointment, in fact I wish they would throw more plaudits his way, most Rag fans I know are very uncomfortable with him as the manager, and especially as he is purging the back room staff, some of them are not stupid (a lot are I know)

I am looking forward to them burning effigies of Moyes, and the press having to eat every word of praise, it will be a joy to behold

Back on topic, I can see a bit of news management going on here, which is fair enough we all know he is our next manager

Some absolute sense and reason and sums up the contradictions we often see on here.

You really cannot question what Mancini delivered during his tenure but he has gone and the new man will get the same unerring support from me.

I expect us to win the League next season and have a bloody good crack at the Champs League. Unrealistic? We shall see.

Yep. The expectations for pellegrini are the same as they would have been If Mancini had stayed. To win the league and to make good progress in the champs league. That's not to say if he falls short in one of those he gets the bullet. As khaldoon and soriano made clear, the expectations for the manager are to get the best from the squad. If he does that, not withstanding the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, the trophies will come.

Had MANUre appointed Wilf McGuinness again they would still be saying the same thing! Meaningless waffle.
