you don t think the delay is due to a short holiday after the season ??

He can have his holiday after it has been announced!! Announce him, let them all have a short holiday and then get the pre-season started.

I'm not really worried when the club choose to announce it. He's clearly coming, and whilst it's a bit odd there's been no formal announcement it doesn't really matter in the scheme of things.

Totally agree Ric but it just gives me a little concern that they are holding out. Just a teensy, weensy bit because they don't really have to have a press conference or anything, just say, X has been appointed and is now on holiday/negotiating his back room staff team/having a baby/babysitting the grandchildren, whatever. :-)

This waiting only gets people thinking maybe it isn't the person we think it is but someone else.

Navas and Fernandinho have pretty much signed (announced by Sevilla/ Navas) but they won't be announced until next week. I'm pretty certain Pellegrini will be announced next week with a few players alongside for the maximum amount of coverage.

Think we all need to relax a little. It's in the bag. Two deals also nearing completion already. We're ahead of the game - why do we need to announce it all to the press ? It's our business - not theirs ! Would be sublime if at MP's first press conference he was sitting their with say 5 new quality signings though.

would it not be more fun to hogg the headlines for the whole week?? announcements every day starting with the new manager Monday, navas Tuesday, fernandhino Wednesday, isco Thursday and so we can all beer it up cavani on the Friday!!! (if carslberg did announcements weeks.........) ;-)

I think the vast majority are totally relaxed., its just a few...

He couldn't start discussing it personally with us until Sunday (so read Monday), and it will take a few days to get the details of the various clauses/incentives past the lawyers. Friday, over the weekend, or early next week.

None of it matters, we're already getting the squad sorted out, and the new head coach will be delighted with what has been assembled.

Rest assured discussions started a long time before Monday! I believe a verbal deal was done last feb, maybe even jan. serious business people do business that way, and will stay true to their word. There is no rush to announce him. People are having holidays, he needs his backroom staff appointing and relocating and I would imagine he wants to have moved over here before his work starts.

I would say that if he's meeting txiki now then it will be effectively as manager. Discussions will be about transfers, staff etc rather than contractual points, which I'd say would all have been ironed out a long time ago.

Re: Pellegrini is the new manager (Malaga Newspaper reports) 3.

I see Sky are covering Jose conference Monday, so cannot see anything happening until next Tuesday at the earliest. (Normally when I do this MCFC will announce his appointment today)

Ideal scenario, let the Mourinho wankfest die down and then bang

Re: Pellegrini is the new manager (Malaga Newspaper reports) 3.

I'm sure that the absence of any official club announcements isn't the result of any agenda. City's board would never dream of outdoing anyone who tried to steal the limelight in cup final week. I think it's simply that there is no reason why the appointment of the manager has to be carried out quickly. The players are on international duty or holiday, so there's no training or other matters meaning the manager has to deal with the players. The diaries of the executives are very full as well, and time may be better spent discussing matters with the manager than press conferences which new players can't attend!
