James Cooper on SKY said he could announced in the next few hours.
He also said Navas passed a medical in Spain

Someone got their wires crossed then as ESPN said the medical was in New York.

Perhaps given the name he was given at birth its possible for him to be in two or more places at the one time.

Just be nice if it's before the season actually starts or kidd will be sat on his own again at this rate

Manchester City fans are probably wondering where on earth Manuel Pellegrini has got himself off to, there's been all kinds of rumours doing the rounds but according to press in Chile it's all sorted. The club and new manager have been talking about transfer targets for days, and that has been seen more important than announcing him as the new manager and dealing with the added attention that would bring.

There are claims in Chile (Soy Chile) and Spain that Pellegrini wanted countryman Alexis Sanchez and Manchester City were working on this deal behind the scenes but the Barcelona player has decided to stay at the Spanish club and fight for his future, at least for one more season to see if he can show his best form there, something he hasn't consistently done yet. That's a shame, the Premier League would appear to suit Sanchez given his performances for Chile.

Pellegrini has signed a three year deal, a year longer than originally reported, according to 24 Horas in Chile, this could also be why the announcement has taken a little longer. However, sorting out a few transfers before wheeling the new manager out sounds like a wise move from Manchester City. It puts him under less pressure and brings less attention to the club and their transfer dealings.

Txiki Begiristain clearly isn't worried, he was strolling around in the Manchester city centre sunshine yesterday evening with family, rather than chasing across the world to iron out last minute Pellegrini problems.
24 Horas say there will be a press conference on either Wednesday or Thursday to announce the new Manchester City manager.

There's every possibility Manchester City will use the same event to announce a further signing, with Jesus Navas yet to be completed and the club linked to further players on a daily basis. It's all a very calm approach from the Manchester side and provides a total contrast to last minute business done through the media when they first found their pot of gold.

Sanchez wouldn't come last time fuck him..... I'd rather have someone else

I wouldn't be so critical of Sanchez. I agree we need to recruit players who are committed to the cause, but when Barca or Real step in, there's never going to be any other result than to lose out on a Spanish speaking player. Another way of looking at it is that our recent history of signing second rate players such as Badebayor, Bridge, Jo and Robinho for silly money and silly wages has given us a reputation that we easily attract mercenaries. This is unjust as we have also signed quality, yet mud easily sticks in this game. But this can be knocked on the head as players of the highest quality are already wealthy beyond their own dreams and are more likely to be motivated by the likelihood of a high medal count and with a new manager of Pellegrini's repute, this may swing Sanchez to look this way. It would still be a difficult job to bring him to City though as the medal count is near-guaranteed at his present club.
