Pellegrini - The English Managers Syndrome

Its a huge shock for us as fans to see him playing so poorly right now it really is but he has to step up to the plate and deliver far more for the side than he currently is. He is far from alone so this is not singling him out but right now its nothing defensively and not much more going forward.
I think the criticism of Silva is going over the top, and I thought he was poor yesterday too, and he would have been on my list of players to be subbed, but I thought he kept trying stuff, he was head up looking for options, and always forward looking. I agree entirely about defensively, and keep banging on about how we need to defend from the front better (or even at all), so the same can be said of Aguero, but more frustratingly for me is KdB, who seemed to spend most of yesterday making 3 yard safe passes, and spent much of the time hiding, and he offers nothing defensively either.

He has demotivated me, as a fan, so fuck knows what the guys in the dressing room must think?

I can genuinely say that watching him and City these last 12 months has been a joyless experience and one which has actually turned me into an angry spectator. I hate watching this team. Nothing worse in this life than selling yourself short.

The only reason we are where we are is in spite of him, having players who are so good, they can still get results against most.

Feel exactly the same way and I hate it. Having been through the dark days I don't want the self entitled views of the Scum and Dippers but we're not good on the eye at the moment.

It's the copy and paste mentality of the manager, you almost know before the game when and how it' going to go tits up.

Fuck knows what he does in training there's no fight or hard work off the ball . Again we got battered in midfield and he does nothing about it till after the 60 min mark . Slow play slow build up always through yaya from the back . Away from home we can not play yaya silva n de bruyne there is not enough hard work off the ball I'd prefer a midfield 3 of delph and the two ferns with a front three of sergio Inacho n one from silva de bruyne or sterling to start with .
That was EXACTLY what I thought when I saw the teamsheet yesterday. Too lightweight with not enough steel in the middle

The three that is Yaya, Silva and KdB have everything needed apart from the right mentality right now imo and i see Sterling going the same way unfortunately.

Wanting to defend, wanting to be first to the ball and wanting to win that tackle at all costs and wanting to play a positive, killer ball rather than playing it safe is a mentality issue. They have all the skill in the world but a poor mentality will let them down.

Rightly you mention the safe 3 yard pass from KdB but watch the games again and its another thing affecting them all at various points in a game. It results in slow, crab like play that any professional team could and should be organised to defend against, never mind defences at this level for whom its easy most of the time.

Im sure they are pissed off with Pellegrini and im sure they cant wait for Pep, Yaya aside ;-), but in the meantime, they cant just go through the motions, letting themselves, the club and the fans down, they just cant and rightly so, they are getting some stick imo.

Agree completely, it's very rare that I have been apathetic as a fan but that is what MP has driven me too. Whereas a shit result used to ruin my weekend, nowadays it's a shrug of the shoulders and crack open a bottle. I hate it.

I don't get this bit, why are they pissed off at Pellegrini ? Why are they not just going out there and doing it ?

I'm sure he's just as pissed off with them, as many are simply not performing.

Yesterday was a malaise, it looked like nobody wanted to take responsibility, on or off the pitch, it needs sorting, and quickly.

I hate wishing the season away but i am not enjoying the majority of this one.The other teams are bad but that's no excuse to be the same,we should be taking advantage of it being the easiest of titles to win in years

This "easiest title" thing is a bit of a myth for me, it could in fact be the hardest to win, in a good few years, because 4 teams are directly involved with only 15 games to go, and all 4 are in similar form, with 2 outsiders to the recent top 4, suggesting its much more even through the league.

Today's Arsenal V Chelsea game could be key in the whole season, Chelsea have become more difficult to beat (5 unbeaten), and have found the knack of scoring again (13 in the last 5 games), so it shouldn't be easy for Arsenal.

If we played how we know we can then we could have turned a lot of our draws into wins at least and be in a more comfortable position,mp and the team both carry the can for that
Chelsea do the arses and i will believe it is properly game on again
