Pellegrini - The English Managers Syndrome

He'd already taken one in the first half, Otamendi cleared it at the front post. So if he didn't know before, he did at the time of the goal.

This is my point, everyone points blame at the manager, without any knowledge of what actually goes on in training. Both goals yesterday were embarrassing individual errors, one by a very expensive and experienced defender, one by arguably our most influential player of all time.

We have a very good offside trap, we are very effective in both boxes when it comes to set pieces, despite being quite a small team. Our shambolic defence that's missed its two best and most influential players has conceded just two more goals than 'solid' United, 1 more than Arsenal. So with the defensive liability that is Kolarov, no Kompany, no Zabaleta. A lazy Ya Ya and a tactically inept manager we still have the 4th best defence, whilst scoring the most. Despite playing behind our 'shambolic' defence, shielded by lazy Ya Ya orchestrated by a tactical Buffon Hart has managed to concede less than the doughnut thief and Cech.

When we put things in perspective we are actually pretty well placed.

Unless we think we're miles better than everyone else and should nob the league. I'm not a rag, so I don't personally think that way.

We are going to have to agree to disagree

Like I've posted elsewhere - we either are the worst team in the world when it comes to buying defenders of they are not coached properly. It is clear to see, without any behind the scenes knowledge, that defending is not a priority

Sorry, thought we were second and bookies favorites?
And that makes us likely victors does it in your opinion?

I've seen nothing of recent form that suggests we will be more likely than Arsenal to win the league.

The manager said in his post match interview that we knew about the long throws and he was clearly irked that his defence appeared to have forgotten what this.

And despite our inept defending, we still concede less shots on goal than anyone else in the league. We need to improve for sure but the required improvement is not huge. We do have to cut out the stupid errors and players making consecutive errors; both of which are far more about players than the manager.

How are Arsenal getting on at home to 15th placed Chelsea?

I think a few fans need a slight reality check.

Yes there's faults with Pellegrini, there is with all managers. I don't believe he should need to coach £30 million players how to defend a throw in or how to track a run.
.

Firstly some fans do need a reality check, you being one of them.

Secondly, Pep will certainly believe players will be coached on every aspect of the game, that's why he is the top coach in the world.

Thirdly, who keeps picking the lazy twat in a two that fails to track any runners?

We've taken four more points than Arsenal in our last six games and are on the same points as them so recent form might in fact suggest otherwise.

And look who they played.

And how did it go seven games ago?

unfortunately to be fair to Pellegrini , that twat suddenly wakes from his sleep in the last 10 minutes and is one of the best in the world when he is awake..

i agree when Pep comes in , that attitude won't work anymore and he will be out anyway

Play him for the last thirty minutes when his legs against tired legs (plus hurt pride) will make him buzz around as he did against Palace.

Not in a two. Not away from home against a skilful and energetic side.

You disagree? With what? Fact? Our defence is statistically no worse than our main rivals. Spurs aside. Do you disagree that Joe Hart keeps winning the golden gloves too? A good majority of goals we concede are gross personal errors.

Off the top my head, Hart threw one in against Norwich, the throw in yesterday, two painfully offside goals at Spurs, Kolarov's fuck up at Watford, the moronic free kick that Otamendi gave away at Spurs, there's 6 goals that any manager could do nothing about. Knock them 6 off, we have the best defence in the league.

Not that simple I know, but the point remains, our woeful defence that may cost us the league is 1 goal worse than Arsenal's, the team we are supposed to be losing the league too. Surely everyone can see the idiocy in that arguement?
Our defence is shambolic, yet Arsenal's is title worthy, does 1 goal make that much difference???

Take the first five or six games away when we didn't concede and how is it, statistically?
