hes got it wrong 4 times mate when on the verge of being in a semi final in Europe, its not just tonite.

Anyway the end of season review in Abu Dhabi with Sheikh Mansour should be interesting.
Don't agree on four. The dippers coach attack and bent refereeing did us then. Last two seasons I agree though. I went to Tottenham and we were flat. Leaving KDB on the bench was just daft.

It will sound dramatic but it will take me a while to forgive him for the lineup yesterday. I was in shock when I saw it, 5 defenders and 2 back Midfielders against Lyon. What was he thinking?

I'm the same. Defeats happen and if we went through and lost to Bayern it's fair enough. But Pep consistently puts us at a disadvatage in the CL. That line up and strategy against Spurs away was shameful, we only had around 7 shots in that game in total. And now the first 60 minutes against Lyon, he tried to be too clever once again and put us at a disadvatage. Sure we could have come back in both games but why are we consistently in positions that we have to make a comeback because this manager must alter the system to suit teams that aren't on our level?

As if the team selection and formation weren't bad enough, his post match explanations were shocking. If we were so afraid of their pace and our lack of pace through the centre why pick that defence playing the high line? Why play your two fastest defenders as wing backs - and therefore further up the field when we're being countered? If pace was the biggest fear why not play Mendy and Cancelo as wing backs and play Walker in the back 3? Why play Garcia and Fernandinho in the back 3 of a high line when they both turn slower than milk?

If pace was the biggest fear why didn't we defend from the front and stop counters before they've even started as we did v Madrid? Why did our two hardest working players not get a single minute?

This shit has happened time and time again this season and just when you think we've finally nailed it v Madrid he picks a team and formation like that. It's absolutely inexcusable.
Bang on the money. It’s like he knew he wanted to play safe but had no idea how to do it.

Would be interesting what his tactical plan was.
Our build-up was completely fuxxed as it had to be brought out by Laporte and Fern but we weren't able to reach our creative elements KDB and Gundo being too far up the pitch and easily covered.

How in hell did Pep want to create using that system?
Maybe he thought Laporte, Rodri or Walker could play through the channels but last night all of them were poor in confident passing.

In the end we funnily conceded 3 - when the plan was strengthening our defence to keep a clean sheet, scoring at least 1 somehow.

Pep and some players dramatically crumbled under the big pressure, again. Not a good thing looking ahead. It will hunt us for a long time.

Pep and his team will have to face that point and develop a professional solution or it will happen time and again.

The entire thing was built around not letting Lyon destroy us on the counter. I think the idea was to play slow, keep it tight for 30 minutes, and then start to dominate things physically after when they'd be a bit too tired to both press as effectively and break at pace. The players were instructed not to press too much, to try and lure them out to play a bit.

But the problem was that it turned out we couldn't deal with their attack other than by defending deep with numbers. Combine that with the unusual formation and it meant that when we won the ball back we weren't quite sure how to play out and so we ended up booting it forward. With Sterling and Jesus likely asked to stay high to stretch things a bit, we ended up looking like a team playing against us. On top of that, because we didn't press like we should have done but still pushed up a bit, we were asking for problems with the ball over the top. It might have worked had we made it to the 30-35 minute mark level but of course we conceded so it let Lyon just sit back and conserve energy and defend doggedly. Then after equalising Pep went for the kill and then (on top of a rather egregious miss by Sterling) it turned out what he feared with the counter came to fruition.

Another thing was a serious lack of belief from some players. Last night De Bruyne and Laporte especially were all trying to force things too early, although De Bruyne's quality still meant it worked sometimes. What worked with all those late wins in 17/18 was having the patience to play the way we were supposed to and belief it'd work eventually. Pep on more than one occasion made it clear that the belief to play the same way for 90 minutes is what carried us through. But last night and many times throughout the season we've just lost our cool and resorted to primitive approaches in play, most notably from Bernardo always looking to cross. How much of that is due to Pep is something that needs answering and resolving ASAP.

I am just tired with Pep. Mentally exhausted.. Can t find an explination for this.. I just want to forget and move on.. I hate when he tries to explane something to the boys and acts like crazy.. It's fking exhausting.. Trying to look passionate in front of cameras.. He is a great coach in about 90% of everything that he is doing, but with the 10% left, he destroyes everything. The break is coming at right time. Com' on City!

I would still take a 90% great in everything over than 100% negative with little or no invention and creativity and have all the passion of Simeone. Part of its down to the players (who aren't streets behind the current Champions) currently at our disposal.

That's why is so frustrating.. I think he is the best coach in the world, but time to time he does something like this.. Taking all the confident and momentum off the boys.. So so frustrating. As I said, time for a football break.

Yep we I agree with that. We all could do with a break
