It was a gamble that didn't pay off and he had to mangage the squad the best way he could, especially with us having a chance in winning 4 trophies.

It’s difficult though with our fixture schedule. He has to rotate. He took a risk and arguably rotated a couple too many but I can see why he did it.

He also can’t freeze Raz out completely. He has to give him a chance to prove himself, especially after the comments he’s made recently. Raz should’ve done better.

Hopefully it won’t affect our momentum and we’ll bounce back with a win against Villa ahead of rhe
That's the thing he rotated way too many, it wasn't one or two it was seven or eight, and the most infuriating thing is that he did it against Leeds just a week ago and it didn't work and he does it again in a semi final against Chelsea. as for Raheem he played last week against Leeds and he was crap, benching him for two big games in a row is not freezing him out.

Last thing in peps mind would be a FA cup final two weeks before chumps league if we get there.
It's been a magnificent effort and Pep knows when players are blowing up, we all knew Mendy, Torres and Sterling are no way starting in the cup final or psg games.
When the team came out I fancied our bench to beat the one picked.
If we get past psg and Chelsea beat Madrid they have the final two weeks before chumps league final, I would bin chumps league for the FA cup but that's my preference, Pep wants the big one and I won't begrudge him that for what he's given in return...... Go Pep and get the big one.

The team Pep picked today was not good enough to beat a resurgent Chelski team , too many changes , i can understand four or five but eight changes means their is next to zero continuity , Pep fucked up , we move on.
This. It’s not the fact he’s rotating - which is perfectly understandable - but the nature and extent.

Last week v Leeds, our left side was rendered as weak as gnat‘s piss by unbalanced rotation. Mendy, a completely rusty Ake, Zinchenko in a new (to City) position and Sterling in dogshit mode.

Today’s team didn't even look man enough on paper to beat a side of Chelsea’s calibre.

There‘s a psychological effect too. Putting out a significantly weakened side suggests that match isn’t important. As we saw, several players were happy to take up the invitation.

Prioritising games is necessary but carries its risks too. A repeat of this and that cnut Mourinho will knock us out of another competition next weekend.

This might be the most ironic comment ever written on bluemoon.

You, someone who wanted Pep fired in January 2017, and fired again in November 2020, complaining that someone doesn't learn and won't admit they made a mistake.

Thanks for bringing a smile to my face.
If we end up with fuck all I'll ask the question again. There's no point in reaching a semi final and neither turning up or trying to change how the game is going.
Not withstanding the defeat that football today was turgid, toothless and boring as fuck, same as the first 9 games or so of the season.

In to injury time and we still pass it around at the back sometimes you just want them to get the ball forward quickly
