The reason why we made it this far instead of crashing out at the QF stage again is because he didn’t overthink those four games vs Dortmund and PSG. He just played our best team.

Then he goes and changes a winning formula. It’s not just the fact that we played without an established DM. Gundo, Foden and KDB didn’t play in the positions that they’d played in in recent months.

I just don’t understand why he did it. The team picked itself. All he had to do was name the team that played the second leg vs PSG and tell them to go out there and show everyone that we are the best team in the world.

Grateful for all that Pep has done for us but he has let us down in Europe once again. It has now happened so many times that sadly I can’t see him learning from it and not overthinking it at some point in the competition going forward

Chelsea were lucky to win at the Etihad. A disgraceful penalty from Kun and poor refereeing decisions helped Chelsea in the league game.

You underestimate your point that Chelsea dealt better with the pressure, not least because of being underdogs.

What makes Pep one of the greatest managers is that he wants to win in style, and not just by playing it safe and relying on counters. If he was only about winning, he wouldn't have created all those great teams and broken all those records.

Pep wanted to win in style last night. It backfired. The players didn't cope with the pressure well, didn't press well, didn't pass well, some players weren't in form, some weren't themselves. When your leaders such as Dias and Kevin are among your worst performers, you must be lucky to win. What was Dias doing for their goal? What did Kevin do for 60 minutes apart from one good pass to Foden?

I agree with all that.
Next game against them it will be super important to win.

Chelsea have our number right now and it’s something we need to sort over the next couple of seasons otherwise we’re in trouble as they’re a coming force

pep had the same issues with Liverpool and he sorted that out, we’re unbeaten in the last 5 or 6 games against them

he is the best manager in the world , perhaps ever because he finds solutions to problems

most people are advocating picking the same team over and over and assuming the quality will win out , it’s too simplistic , the opponent wants to win too and also sometimes has a plan that’s better or beats ours

i guess it’s easier to take if you can scapegoat the reason for a loss but it’s not on Pep, Chelsea were just better than us

Chelsea have never played our best 11!!! That’s why they keep beating us. He keeps putting experimental teams out against them.

We got a much tougher game in both semi legs from them than we did last night IMO.

Chelsea's defensive organisation is far, far better than PSG's. It's like watching a different sport.

People persist with their low opinion of Chelsea. Truth is that Rudiger was far better than Dias and Stones last night, Kante was far better than any of our midfielders. They have very good players and an excellent coach. Our players didn't turn up, Dias and KDB were among the worst players on the pitch.

Spot on, can’t believe with what he and the team have done the last few years, with what they have done this year, the best of any team in europe this season, that we lose a champions league final and suddenly Pep and the team are weak and shit,
FFS there being dissapointed and wishing things had gone differently, but anyone doubting these players and manager with an addition of a striker and possibly one or two ther additions can’t carry on winning things and give the c/l another good crack are fools beyond belief.
Luckily the club aren’t fools and will back Pep and the team to the hilt.

I like him a lot. And I like this collection of players a lot. I wish I had something more insightful to day. Someone yesterday in Porto was giving me shit saying "I'm tired of you blindly sticking up for players". I think the opposite is true, those who are the most unhappy and are making the most noise about individuals, are the blind ones. They don't see what's in front of them because they're chasing a kind of perfection which simply doesn't exist.

Ah well, such is life. I'm going to find a place to have a beer and some food and try and ease my way out of this City.

The minute that team was announced a fukin massive sigh was heard by over 50 lads in the bar. All saying they’ve wasted their time and money If I thought for one minute that useless twat was playing, and even worse Fern or Rodri were going to be denied their moment I would not have gone through all that stress and shit last week.
