Right so he wasn't appointed to win the Champions League but to dominate club football and he's done 80% of it.

We had already won the pl with Mancini and Pellegrini. I believe there's an old interview where Khaldoon said it was time to go to the next level, obviously implying that it was time to get the UCL. If all Mansour and Khaldoon wanted was the pl then they would have retained either Mancini or Pellegrini. Let's cut the bullshit, ok? Mansour wants the UCL and it's OK to admit that we also want the UCL.

The Premier League is the best competition in the world and certainly the hardest but the Champions League is the most prestigious.

The owners crave this trophy to make us a true elite club, it' why we hired the best manager in the world who has won it previously, not once but twice.

If all the owners wanted was the pl, they could have retained Mancini, Pellegrini or who knows, the could have hired Ranieri, right? They got the best manager in the world for a reason. They didn't bring him in to repeat what has already been done by the managers before him.
