Just randomly watching QPR v Luton. The latter playing out from the back starting with the keeper beating the press etc. This is in the Championship.

How much of this is down to Pep? Has he really transformed how a lot of teams play.

The possession game owes a lot (if not all) to Pep for it's current levels of acceptance all over the world. I can't think of another reason that is as influential as his original Barca side.

Was a gradual process. With Howe in Newcastle now I'd say there's probably only 2-3 teams in the Premier League who play classic English hoofball.

There's at least 5 teams in the Championship trying to play Pep's style too.

Try watching a few non-league games and you're sure to see a few teams trying to play 'Pep ball'.

It's usually quite funny and sometimes absolutely hilarious.

The moral of the story....? If you haven't got the players capable of doing it, don't bother.

The main thing all teams need to realise...? Don't try it against City.

Even teams are playing out from the back in early rounds of the FA cup.

Pitches are so much better so why give the ball away with a punt upfield? Pep's influence has changed the game in England at all levels and for the better.

Arsenal were trying to play out from the back today. It didn’t go well. At first sign of aggressive press they folded like damp cardboard. Not easy this stuff.

The current United manager has been a perfect illustration that anyone can't win even if enough money is poured into the squad. Guardiola isn't perfect, but he is by far better than most of the current crop. The next one, whenever such is required, shouldn't be appointed for sentimentality. Hopefully, though, there might a few more seasons on top of his current contract.
