Masterclass today. Probably let down by most players. Whenever someone thinks Klopp is better, just make them watch this match. Change Sterling and Jesus shooting for Salah or Mane’s and we would have beaten them by 4 or 5

Excellent tactics again today.

One thing I would say though is don’t control the ball and give it straight back to Liverpool at that throw before they scored. Let them go and get it ! Gives us more chance to organise.

He got everything spot on today. He can't stick the ball in the net himself. Team was correct, formation/positions were finally correct and our approach was spot on, we were head and shoulder above them because Pep completely out thought Klopp. We just don't have the clinicalbfinishing ability within the squad.

The guy is a genius we are blessed to have him as the manager of our great club

Agree mate...was slightly worried how we would compete against the Scousers today but Pep got his tactics spot on today where we had them by the balls & for the lack of being more clinical should have finished them off.

Utilising Sterling’s speed & almost playing them at their own game showed great flexibility from our usual ball possession tactics.

Loved him putting Bernie in midfield as cover from the Scousers countering us at will instead of shoving him up top as a false 9.

Definitely got the upper hand on Klopp in recent years.

It's only new managers that he ever struggles against and after a couple of meetings tends to figure them out.

He's fucking world class and I hope he never leaves.

I wonder if the clowns I’ve berated on this thread many times for saying “pEp HAs nO pLAn B” could see the tactical changes he made for Sunday’s game. I doubt it. He has more plans than any manager I’ve ever known, tweaking it virtually every game. The last few times we’ve played Liverpool he’s totally changed the tactics in different ways and that’s we we keep outplaying them.

But we get one of our three annual freak defeats and you come on here and every football illiterate is posting “he’s got no plan B” because he didn’t stick Crouchy on and start lumping it in the box.

It's like the tinkering. Even Pep knows that when he tinkers and we win nobody cares, but when we lose it's 'Pep tinkers!' o'clock.

People remember him tinkering before Lyon, but nobody remembers him tinkering heavily against Real Madrid the round before. He literally played two false 9s!

Oh god, the amount of times I’ve posted something similar. His “overthinking” is his genius because most of the time it works.

He has been our greatest ever manager without a doubt.

Yeah, that’s all fine and everything - but he doesn’t get us, does he?

I mean - really get us as fans.

He’s way too complimentary about the Rags for starters. And he needs to prioritise the Derby more.

I think he’s a bald c*nt.

He got messed up with one suggestion last week in the lead up. He stated that the Dipper full backs were tremendous, or something similar. I thought the pair of them were shite. And where was Scotland's cap'n when Jesus stole in and got what should have been our winner? Nofuckin'where, that's where. But then Pep could have been bullshitting 'em!

As if!

I didn't post it anywhere but I have witnesses that I predicted the team selection correctly for the Liverpool game; although I had Foden and Sterling the other way round.

I point this out not to claim anything other than it was obvious that Pep would pick a team and use tactics very much designed for the opponent. He was bound to address the fact that their main supply line is their full backs so it was easy to guess that he would use wingers that he could rely on to cover their full back.

The fundamentals don't change but every game has a plan for the occasion. Some vary more than others from the baseline.
