He got it wrong, we move on and wait for the next game. Some comments about it being easy are pretty stupid and if you don't think so then it's arrogant.

I trust Pep before an amateur tactician who knows best. The fucking drama on the matchday thread can be a bit raggy and cringey.
Well said. Southampton were only relegated about 6 weeks ago. We can't expect to beat them in a game that means nothing to them.

They have gotten 3 points from the last 10 games only conceding 21. Tough side to play against.

He’s fucked up on more than one occasion this season we all know that, he will as well, although he’d never admit it, but for these thinking he should bow out with head held high are not thinking it through properly, once he goes we are fucked, and I mean fucked and games like yesterday will become the norm again.

But us of a certain age are used to that I suppose
I have never if I’m right been disrespectful to any members on this forum, but you are talking absolutely bollocks with that post..

Read my other posts and you might be able to get your head out of yer arse and understand I’m meaning the now and next year or two, so whatever you think I don’t really give two fucks in all honesty

No, I’m on about it’s him whose needed for next year or two to get us back amongst it proper, then someone can come in and be confident of taking over the winning machine again, so I’ll ask you then, if he did fuck off who could come in and get us back amongst it? Bollocks
To answer your question ive no idea who comes in. So keep pep obviously but this notion were fucked when he leaves is nonsense munich and barca are both fine. So will we

So in other words you and a few others are still smarting from yesterday then, I get it, smacked arses at its finest like but I get it, we re visit this when we lift the cup next week and qualify for CL in a poor season for our usual standards, then we can start trying to get an idea of who can come in and take the ship over and keep it steady, because the reason I asked that is I think we both know the answer there’s nobody out there who could come in within next year and do it

Doesn’t matter anyway in two years the candidates will be different to the candidates now, same as the candidates now would be different to the ones being touted 2 years or even 12 months ago.

Exactly, but it seems there’s plenty who wouldn’t care if he went this summer, if he does there’s not a lot anyone can do about it but my worry is who, at this present moment in time nobody is the answer but like you say 12/18 months time could be a different story altogether

There was a lack of movement in the box yesterday. Haaland is 100% on the far post in any attack. He doesn't seem to want to attack the near post at all. Its also not helped that when he is in the box he is invariably manhandled by at least two defenders so the days of Kev curling in a cross into the corridor of uncertainty are long gone because Haaland is physically stopped from getting on the end of them. It seems that the only crosses that work are cut backs to midfielders. Like the one Bernie made a hash off yesterday. We had something like 11 corners yesterday and most of them were floated long to the other side of the far post. No invention. No imagination. If we have a set piece coach they should have been sacked a while back. Speed is everything and our passing is now at snail pace. There is a reason than Southampton were able to keep a clean sheet yesterday. We allowed them to.
I know, the lack of variation at times is poor. We did the same thing on every corner. There were a few times towards the end when Doku was 15 yards inside from KDB taking the corner with only one man anywhere near him. Try a short for once and let him go at someone one v one. The other thing that drove me mad yesterday 2nd half was our only real tactic was get it to Doku. Which by the time they started getting 3 on him even Messi may have struggled. The amount of times a midfielder could have moved it quicker though and him be one on one was so frustrating. Time and again we played 2 and 3 passes to get it to him when one would have done. By which point they had him at least double marked

To compare us to Bayern and Barcelona is ridiculous, those clubs had a tradition of being consistently successful long before he was managing them, being consistently successful is relatively new to us. I'm not saying the sky will fall when he goes, but there is no guarantee we'll continue to win leagues after he has gone. Look at Arsenal 20 years no title, Liverpool 2 titles in 35 years, and the rags 12 years no title. Things can change massively in football and quickly. We have won at least 1 trophy every season for the last season 7, and might even win one this season, in what's been generally a shite one. No one is saying the manager is beyond criticism, but the people willing to give up on him( I know you said you weren't one)after one poor season is ridiculous. I can't think of anyone who would potentially be available who'd get many excited.

I think the injuries are the reason we couldn't win the league this year, but Pep is the reason we're in a battle for 4th. It feels like Pep has been struggling all year not to find a way to win, but rather to find a way to win with his favourites playing every week.

the 4-2-2-2 we're playing has got a few results in recent weeks, but every performance has been dire, creation is anaemic and frankly its boring.

pep should be building the team around getting the best out of haaland and marmoush, but instead it feels like we're building the entire formation to allow Bernardo silva to keep his place in the team, to allow gundogan and kovacic to keep their places in the team.

Love pep and what he's done the club will never be repeated, but also not interested in a painful long goodbye wenger style, where new talent is wasted (the level we have wasted haaland this season is obscene) and handicaps put in to cover for ageing favourites. grim.

The best coach around wouldn’t have picked that team today.

I’m not asking for Pep to go.

But sometimes you have to admit Pep made a bad team selection, and tactical mistakes. Today was one of those days.

Pep out! ;-)

Definitely a poor day for Pep yesterday, absolutely no dressing that up. But the context is also VERY important. I'll say again, a year ago he'd just won his 4th title on the bounce. The fact that he was probably too loyal to the treble winning team is why he ends up with that achievement, but also why this season has been the way it is and why next season will also potentially be one of transition. The team needs rebuilding because we've squeezed every ounce of quality from it's core.

There's a lot of people in this thread who either don't know football or just have some absolutely weird dislike for Guardiola. Every time City lose a game of football, those people are in here chatting absolute shit of the highest order.

But when I put it I’m talking bollocks, unbelievable the way winning after winning is a must for most now, as you say don’t understand football one fucking bit

Doesn't disagree yesterday turned out a poor day. On the other hand when that team was announced I don’t think anyone thought that team wasn’t going to score a least a couple of goals against Southampton.
Completely agree about the lack of any perspective and awareness of a few in here.

I think there's a weird cross section of young kids who only know winning and therefore carry a lot more entitlement and a bunch of miserable old cunts who just don't like Pep (probably because he's too successful and it makes them insecure).
