Made a mess of this injury crisis.
Risked too many first team players against Spurs
Rushed back players who are now injured again
Brighton just had an injury crisis as well

In fact more than half of PL team has similar amount of players absent

Time to show skills to manage through injury crisis unless clubs can win over FIFA and UEFA...

Operation restart, come back after the internationals. Speak to the leadership in the team and ask the players do want this title or we just going through the motions?
Pep can still get a tune out of the boys, you just have to trust in Pep.

Said before, I don’t think he can fix this, he just doesn’t have the tools to do anything other than keep playing them until some decent form is found. To lose 4 in a row is embarrassing for him really.

My opinion was another year under Pep is better than anyone else and I kind of still agree but I think 2 years or go minimum is what’s best for the club, I would rather not kick the can down the road.

...or we have a squad that's fit enough to play ? Not pick up splinters in their arse.

We actually played some of our best football of the season today, in the first half, totally controlled the game, but as usual couldn't find a second goal.

Some still worked hard and tried hard in the second half, many were woeful, and a defence that looked solid in the first half were quite poor second half.

Easy to blame the makeshift defence, but why aren't we putting the ball in the net when we should be ? If you find the answer to that, you'll find the answer to the problem.

In the 4 lost games, 68 attempts at goal, 23 on target, 4 goals, it's not good enough.

We have been here before like 4 years ago...

At the beginning of 2020/2021 season, we were in a big crisis.

Lost game against Leicester, Eric Garcia still playing, etc.

I had a feeling that we had a lot of players who were old or not at the City's level. Like Cancelo seemed to be a flop, Mahrez / Sterling were performing like below average players, Gundo seemed to be goner, Bernardo wasn't as great as before, Aguero wasn't the same. So we had a lot of problems.

But then we somehow started to play again. Ruben improved our defence and we started to do well in that department. Foden's impact was huge, game-by-game he was improving as a LW and culmination was that game at Anfield when he played one of the best games of his career. After Foden, Cancelo was our main player in terms of impact as we had Mendy on LB position and switching Cancelo there was tactical masterpiece as we had player who during attack's was playing as a LW and giving Foden opportunity to play more centrally (LAM) and as a LB while defending he was waaaaaaay better than Mendy. Then Gundo started scoring, Mahrez, Sterling, whole team improved and we had a great season.

So what we need are impact players like Foden and Cancelo in 20/21.

Cancelo. Tactical Masterpiece.

It's ok fella. I watched him play every minute. Keep your youtube compilation.
Watching isn't enough without the understanding the essence of the game.

I also watched every bit of that season and there is no one in his true mind, who will deny Cancelo's importance in that season.

The video was to help you recover some lost memories :D

Remember how he was of such tactical importance he sat on the bench in the ucl final. "Essence of the game". Jesus Christ.

Rodri also set on the bench, but that doesn't mean he wasn't important.

And also, judging by who played CL final when it comes to assessing the whole season isn't reasonable at least.

Truth is that Cancelo in 20/21 was one of our main players and the reason why Foden worked as LW and vice-versa. That left wing was our main strength that season and reason we defeated the crisis.

They replaced Mendy/Sterling duo from 19/20 season.

Come on Pep sign for another two years. If anyone can move us on it's certainly Pep. We need a fresh team with Pep's DNA as it's worked brilliantly for the past 9 years. I actually like him more every year we are lucky enough to have him.

1 goal 3 assists after new year. Didn't sit on the bench against Chelsea in the fa cup semi and it didn't make a difference there. Was in the bottom 7th percentile of players being dribbled past. But at least he made up for it with his trademark "can do" attitude. Tactical masterpiece.

Yep but Mendy was complete disaster and compared to him Cancelo played like Paolo Maldini :D

Also there was difference in terms of tactics:
-----Walker------John--------Ruben-------
---------Bernie---------Rodri---------------
Mahrez--------Gundo------Foden-Cancelo
-----------------Jesus/KDB----------------

So in overall it helped to team improve and Foden/Cancelo pair was working.

It's like right now we lack defensive midfielder and even though we won't get someone like Rodri, still, having above average player there means that our overall game will improve and results will start to come.

I was pessimistic on Pep after we lost to Lyon in the CL and after losing the title to Liverpool in 2020. Early the following season I think we lost 4-0 to Everton and that's when I thought maybe it was time to think about him as a three-year manager.

I will never doubt him again, especially when paired with our hierarchy - but his recovery from 19-20 took a slew of class signings (Dias chiefly) and time. I don't know if he can turn this ship on a dime. But if he stays beyond this season I'm very confident we will be fine.
