I don't think we can press with Haaland upfront, he just isn't built to press.
Every player can press but whether their brain and heart are in it is another matter. One of the best pressing performances I’ve seen was in the FA Cup, involving Alvarez, Foden, Palmer, and Mahrez, against Chelsea in January ‘23. They worked like a team of sheepdogs and penned Chelsea in from the off. Most people would not pick Palmer and Mahrez as the pressing type, but the truth is if a player has high football intelligence and understands both their angles and those of their teammates, then that makes it much easier as individuals and as the group.

Haaland couldn't press a grape.

As for the Premier League, this season is basically over, and now we need to focus on preparing for the next one. The best thing would be to sign Zubimendi in January, similar to how we brought in Laporte in January 2018.

In some of the wildest and most beautiful dreams, as part of preparations for the 2025/26 season, it would be ideal if we could part ways with Walker, Stones, Gundogan, Bernardo, Grealish, and Nunes. The case of Kevin De Bruyne should be carefully considered; even when used sparingly, he remains the biggest threat to the opponent's goal.As seen last night.

It would be great if our team looked something like this:

Ederson, Ortega

A new right-back, a new center-back, Akanji, Dias, Ake, Gvardiol, Lewis (as a backup, only used in garbage time).

Rodri, Zubimendi, a new CMF, a new AMF (Wirtz?), Kovačić (with limited minutes), and see how much KDB can still contribute.

A new winger who can score goals and provide assists, Doku, Savinho, Bobb.

Haaland and his backup.

The 21st player, if I’ve calculated correctly, and there would even be room for 5 more.

But I think that solving the issues with the current players who are a burden to the club is even harder than bringing in new ones.

Just look at Gundo and Lewis "tracking back" here and this was the first half, I remember Nunes when he came on late against Wolves and he ran back to make a tackle in our own half before sprinting forward again and getting a shot that led to a bunch of corners that led to the winner, yes he was only on for a few minutes so he was fresh, but Gundo and Lewis can't run like that in the first minute, it's ridiculous that Pep hasn't given him a chance in midfield.

First things first.

The culprits for all the trouble we're facing are the senile old man Tixi and Pep Guardiola himself, to the extent that he has had an influence. All the chaos began after winning the treble, with a disastrous transfer window (only one player brought in) and the contract extension for Walker, which is even worse. If we had any sense and luck, Walker would have been Bayern’s problem by now, not ours. Forget all his current shortcomings as a player—he’s a rarely unintelligent person, and that’s an even bigger problem than him losing his speed.

After the first two culprits, injuries come into play, which we can’t control, but we’re still back to those two because we have no backups.

The problems are so challenging that even if the club were ultra-active in the next two transfer windows (winter and summer), we still wouldn’t have a clear squad situation:

  • Walker – Old, slow, the biggest defensive liability, opponents target him and exploit it to the maximum against us.
  • Stones – Injury-prone, a player you simply can’t rely on.
  • Gundogan – It’s pure luck that he has just one more year on his contract, and hopefully, he won’t be an issue next season. He’s old, slow, and a shadow of the player he used to be.
  • Lewis – Probably the most overrated talent ever, and Pep has had many like him throughout his career: think of players like Rode, Gaudinho, Højbjerg, Krkić, Tello, Rafinha, Cuenca, etc. I actually think some of these players have had a more successful career than Lewis will ever have. Sorry, kid, but the maximum role he can realistically play is the one that Sergio Gomez had.
  • Bernardo – He’s a dead player now. Many have already said everything that needs to be said about him here. He’s been unusable for 18 months, even though he’s not exactly old yet. The 30,000 minutes he’s played under Pep have taken their toll. He’s lost his speed, his sprint, his dribbling. He passes the ball backwards, has no crossing ability, his pressing is useless, and he loses the ball more than ever.

What the fuck is this shit?

Calling Pep and Txiki senile old men. Calling Lewis the most over-rated talent ever. Then saying Bernardo is a dead player.

These new fans are the worst.

We really miss Alvarez. A frustrating player at times but clearly a huge part of the jigsaw.
