Just look at Gundo and Lewis "tracking back" here and this was the first half, I remember Nunes when he came on late against Wolves and he ran back to make a tackle in our own half before sprinting forward again and getting a shot that led to a bunch of corners that led to the winner, yes he was only on for a few minutes so he was fresh, but Gundo and Lewis can't run like that in the first minute, it's ridiculous that Pep hasn't given him a chance in midfield.

Fodens piss poor press there starts the ball rolling. Lacklustre to say the least.

First things first.

The culprits for all the trouble we're facing are the senile old man Tixi and Pep Guardiola himself, to the extent that he has had an influence. All the chaos began after winning the treble, with a disastrous transfer window (only one player brought in) and the contract extension for Walker, which is even worse. If we had any sense and luck, Walker would have been Bayern’s problem by now, not ours. Forget all his current shortcomings as a player—he’s a rarely unintelligent person, and that’s an even bigger problem than him losing his speed.

After the first two culprits, injuries come into play, which we can’t control, but we’re still back to those two because we have no backups.

The problems are so challenging that even if the club were ultra-active in the next two transfer windows (winter and summer), we still wouldn’t have a clear squad situation:

  • Walker – Old, slow, the biggest defensive liability, opponents target him and exploit it to the maximum against us.
  • Stones – Injury-prone, a player you simply can’t rely on.
  • Gundogan – It’s pure luck that he has just one more year on his contract, and hopefully, he won’t be an issue next season. He’s old, slow, and a shadow of the player he used to be.
  • Lewis – Probably the most overrated talent ever, and Pep has had many like him throughout his career: think of players like Rode, Gaudinho, Højbjerg, Krkić, Tello, Rafinha, Cuenca, etc. I actually think some of these players have had a more successful career than Lewis will ever have. Sorry, kid, but the maximum role he can realistically play is the one that Sergio Gomez had.
  • Bernardo – He’s a dead player now. Many have already said everything that needs to be said about him here. He’s been unusable for 18 months, even though he’s not exactly old yet. The 30,000 minutes he’s played under Pep have taken their toll. He’s lost his speed, his sprint, his dribbling. He passes the ball backwards, has no crossing ability, his pressing is useless, and he loses the ball more than ever.

The fuckwit returns with a bang.

I think Kaz7 needs to take a cold shower and listen to some calming music, he has some points regarding Walker, Stones and Gundogan, but Lewis and Bernado? What is he on?

Don't even get me started on our "pressing", also Lewis should be intercepting that ball to Maddison but he didn't, he also should've tracked back better after that but he didn't, why ? because he simply can't, and with Gundo alongside him Spurs had a field day.

If these two plus Bernardo can make up for their lack of pace and physicality by being creative on the ball than that's a risk we have to take but no there is nothing there either, so we have a midfield that's basically useless in both defence and attack.

We should just try Nunes and Mcatee, yes they won't be creative but maybe they will help us a bit defensively just by being able to run, Pep though completely refuses that option.

Fuck me.
Do I actually walk the same streets as posters like this?

Absolutely cuckoo.

I was raging at that. Not being fast enough is fair enough but put the fucking effort in.

We look unfit compared to the opposition. Our slow slow play requires endurance and concentration but not speed.
Players using the excuses handed down by Pep telling them its a long season ,players are tired etc must have filtered through the training staff and the players because we do not look fit and that results in injuries.

That’s the main thing that infuriates me with Lewis.

It’s still poor from Gündoğan but his legs have gone. Lewis on the other hand is a 20 year old yet he constantly jogs and gets to defensive positions too late,
