Don't be a smart-arse, we've lost 9 of the last 12 games with just 1 win.
Yes. The results and form are abysmal. Sometimes, we just need to step back a bit. Pep is definitely not above criticism. He's a stubborn SOB but I suppose he has every right to believe that his system, his methods and the way he wants to play is the correct one to perform at the highest level. After 8 years of playing his way, blowing it all up to play 2 banks of 4 and play on the counter isn't going to work. We just don't have the players to do that and we don't have time on the training pitch in between games to implement. Throwing the kids in at this time isn't right either, they need more protection. In hindsight he could've blooded more youngsters but I guess nobody could've anticpated these injuries.

We just have to ride this storm out, no matter how painful it is. We can all moan about his selections and tactics but at the minute his hands are greatly tied and we're having to make do with who is available.

A declining KDB and Rodri's injury has exposed this ageing squad and the amount of injuries has left it beyond threadbare. I think, the DOF and tehcnical team have tried to be too clever and attempted to get value for money with the recent signings. Kovacic, Nunes, Gundogan, Phillips, Savinho, Doku look to be poor signings at the moment. To be the best, we need to sign the best players.

Victory has defeated some of these players. They just don't give or can't find that extra 10% which is needed in most games. I can imagine that after 4 successive PLs, summoning that effort everytime must be difficult.

I have faith in Pep, his record is absurd and I trust things will improve soon

As I said, probably since the ones who has actually seen these players every day think that they are significantly worse. Is this too much for you to grasp?
And like I said, it's been proven in the last couple of years that Pep doesn't always get it right with our young players, is that too much for you to grasp ? also even if the kids are rubbish why not play them and give some of the injured and tired players a rest so maybe they can help us later on when they are fit ? is that too much for you to grasp ?

Which one of our former academy graduates would I want us to sign this January, if we took that they ever had any history with our youth team out of the equation? Palmer. The rest are not exactly top players and all would currently be underwhelming signings for a team of our stature. And thats after spending time playing regular football at a lower level than us, we could assume they were much worse before getting that development.

It has worked pretty well over his years here, I agree. Treble winners, PL win after win after win after win.
That’s not my point. The point is one or two at least could have been given a chance , being coached by Pep, playing with great players so they could have stayed here and become really good players. Lavia and Roger’s are 2 prime examples and of course Palmer.

You ”proved” it by listing some players who were all significantly worse than the senior players there were competing with.

No I proved it by mentioning players who would do a far better job than the current senior players who are playing, by your logic we should've let Foden go 5 years ago since he wasn't doing better than David Silva, Bernie, KDB, Mahrez... etc.

Thank fuck for a sensible post , everyone needs to read this and calm tne fuck down

It's hard to have sympathy when he's doing the same thing over and over again.

Matty Cash on a yellow 37 mins in. Villa have been defensively awful this season. 2nd half starts and we continue with this slow, predictable passing and build up, giving Villa all the time in the world to setup.

Take some risks, bring on Doku and Savinho at 60 minutes, get them running at defenders and play to Haaland's strengths as a runner.

The game was crying out for direct wingers all game and he kept persisting with Bernardo and Grealish doing pirouettes and back passes, whilst our midfield was being crowded out.

Low and behold, our most threatening moment of the game (where we scored), came from Savinho running at their defence and taking some risks.

We're past the point of 'playing safe'. Our senior players are knackered, looking past the point of caring and being shown way too much respect.

Grealish had cash on toast and as soon as he’s booked we stop giving Grealish the ball

I didn't say Pep should be sacked and that he's absolutely rubbish, all I'm complaining about is why he doesn't give the kids more chances, and why can't he change the style, you can disagree with that but I think I'm perfectly sensible.

The difference obviously being that Foden was a talent that was good enough to get minutes while the likes of Rogers/Lavia/Delap was not.
