Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

McAtee is not a child. He's a 22 year old academy product who has played as a starter in the Prem. He is one of the best players on England's U21 squad every time he takes the pitch. If you are correct that the Gundo we watched yesterday is a better option than McAtee then the lad might as well retire now. C'mon mate, what are we doing here? You don't need me to tell anyone Pep is having a mare currently. the results and performances speak for themselves. Whether he gets things sorted or if he deserves the opportunity to do so are other matters. The facts are right now he's struggling mightily to get things right. There's no need to come on a City forum and gaslight fellow Blues into thinking otherwise. The reality of what we are witnessing speaks for itself.
Wasting your time here, mate.

I have no problem with people giving criticism to Pep when the results are as poor as they are, as I written earlier today in this thread.

I just dont think playing even worse players is the solution like some people here seem to think.

Think the issue is that the side has no pace and no energy, that's what youth players can bring

They have energy and they can make the difference and get some points on the board

What Pep is trying is not working, so why not experiment can't get worse we are losing every game getting battered along the way

Oh I agree - I don't think many of these academy players if any will make it here long term but they can offer some energy and enthusiasm and lift a team.

I find it wild that Pep is persisting with players whose physicality has declined to such an extent.

If he doesn’t play them we'll never know if they are worse, but 1 win in 12 suggests it couldn’t be any worse could it? Or do you think it would be none in 12?

One would have to be pretty bad to be worse than the present Walker for example. Anyone worse should not be anywhere near our squad. The "children" as you call them are young professional footballers who have been excelling in their sport their entire young lives in order to reach this point. They aren't idiots. I played well into my 30s at a decent level and I can only imagine what some of these younger players are thinking watching some of the dross performances being put in by players who are past it. They are basically being told "see that fella walking around, getting beat repeatedly to the ball, refusing to put in a proper challenge, losing sight of his man...", he's still a better option than you. What message is Pep sending the squad as a whole? That I won everything with these guys so no matter how dreadful they become I'll always prefer them to you.

We'll never know no, but I assume its not our coach highest priority to let fans see and decide for themselves if they are worse or not. In his professional opinion after seeing them in training every day they clearly are significantly worse since they are not playing. Maybe he's right, maybe he's wrong. We dont know but it seems a bit silly to me that people assume we have a bunch of great players Pep refuse to play for seemingly no other reason than him being a total moron.
And yes, of course it could look even worse. Instead of losing with 2-1 in a game like yesterday we could be losing with 6-1.

Well, Pep sees them every day in training and we dont. Either Pep is a complete moron who have no idea how to rate a players ability or the youth players are just even worse. I know what I think is more likely.

He obviously wants Pep out.
You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Don't presume to speak for me. If I want Pep out, I'll say that. I'm saying he's having a mare because he is. I'm saying he needs to get his shit together because he's fucking Pep and this just isn't near good enough for him or anyone else. I'll speak for myself thank you.

Why are you so aggressive and it sure sounds like you want him fucking out. Seems to me that you are the one who has no idea.

Every pundit and opposition fan are desperate for Pep to fuck off, we as City fans should not, in my opinion, be helping them by calling for his head the moment we have a poor run of form. He has earned the right for us to back him in rebuilding this side.
Can someone please post who has said Pep out. In spite of all the different narratives I've seen or posted myself I haven't seen anyone say Pep out. Are people reading stuff on social media and responding to it here? Because in spite of the concerns and critiques of Pep posted on here I don't see this big Pep out movement. I just see a group of angry clappers taking issue with anyone with the temerity to question our manager by hurling insults and calling people names. Critical thinking is not allowed I suppose...

I'm aggressive as you say because I don't take kindly to people speaking for me. I'll speak for myself. If my opinion was Pep out that's what I would say instead of spending time expressing my concerns. How hard is that to understand?

And yet you assume I have no idea. I have been watching City for over 50 years I have a good idea what I'm talking about.

him being scared a young player may make mistakes but not caring about Gvardiol or Walker making blunders each week or Gundogan being wrong position way too late so many times, this is nonsense.

I've said so many times.... Pep Guardiola is a risk averse coach. He won't take chances with youth if he's got a half fit experienced alternative.

It's just the way he is. Most coaches are exactly like that. It just becomes more obvious in times of 'problems'.

It takes a brave (and very confident) coach to give (say) 5 or 6 academy players decent runs in the first team in one season. If only one or two lads 'pay off', it's a big win.

Only Rico Lewis has been given a decent run this season, and he's knackered, and going backwards. He's a long way off elite level.

There you go again. Who has said - or even thinks Pep’s a total moron? I thought you were just a fan boy but now realise you’re a troll of limited intelligence.
