Lets hope fot top 4 finish, and then we can thank him and he can move on.

Imagine spending 200m in January, and yet none of the 200m players could have improved the team
They need time to adapt mate, which means we will see Kev, Gundo, Bernie and Lewis for the rest of the season.

Who in their right mind is throwing Khusanov or Reis out there against Vini and Mbappe when neither of them have even played a full 90 for City? Marmoush should’ve come on earlier but the other two would be like deer in headlights with Madrid running at them the way we lost control of the game.

Chance would be a fine thing for Reis, he’s not even in the squad

Well he threw Lewis instead and it ended up exactly like everyone thought it would, but maybe that was Pep's plan all along, he knew it was fucked anyway when Akanji got injured so he preferred to sacrifice Lewis and throw him to the wolves rather than Khusanov.

Realistically speaking, we are fast closing in on the end of Peps time at the club. If it's going to take 2 years to rebuild this side, is he here at the end of it? I'm not sure he is.

Before I get jumped on, I love this man and certainly don't want to see him go. Just preparing myself for the inevitable. Big decisions to be made up and down the club.

For all of the wonderful things he’s done at City he doesn’t half leave me scratching my head at times.

I really wish he’d change our style at certain points in games instead of leaving us exposed and one dimensional.

There are clearly some that are not in his circle of trust and so he goes with the ones that are, but it’s hurt us badly at times this season.

Yes he did. And look, let's be honest it's his choice when he goes but I hope he'll know when to leave rather than drag on like Wenger, Clough and others.
One more season and if things improve next time around one more then he will go.

I see you in basically every thread, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a good post from you

That’s exactly what he did. He knows Rico can probably handle the fallout of being on the pitch when it all falls apart. No sense sacrificing Khusanov’s mentality for that bullshit.

Another game where he's set us up to lose.

The squad we have isn't the treble winning squad but it's capable of vastly better performances than pep is getting out of them. How about playing to the strengths of the players we have and finding a system that works for them rather than trying to make them fit into a system that's now outdated.

Ok well in that case that's a great way to inspire your new young big money defender and give him confidence, I know you are going to get ripped apart and humiliated by Vinicius so I'm protecting you and instead this other useless fucker will take the fallout, no wonder this team has absolutely zero confidence and collapses at the first sign of adversity if that's the mentality of the manager.

tactically another evolution is needed. he has done a few at City. this time tho we are a bit stuck. normally he would have changed the way from the treble season by now but we still want to do it that way with lesser players or older player or players past their best.

even last year was mostly the same but at slower pace but incredible season from Rodri, Foden, Alvarez got us over the line in PL. this year more slower, no Rodri, no Alvarez and less end product from wingers while big injuriess in defence and genera form of many dropped a lot like Akanji, Ederson, Foden, Grealish etc.

current set up and tactics are found out. better incoming players can improve it but we need to evolve a bit. we used to have brutal energy and off the ball workrate especially with Jesus, Sterling, Fernandinho, 20-21, 21-22...
teams hated to play us as we working just as hard off the ball as them but great at possession too and we did press well and hard earning us chances and stealing the ball back in attacking third.

not much left of that. off the ball we are slow to duels, shit at 50-50s, slow to even make tactical fouls or to reach second balls. shit at pressing. huge holes in midfield easily bypassed by opponent by one single pass or them just running through it.

In other words we're shit...

I think this is the most frustrating thing about this whole mess. We can see it! He can even see it! But he seemingly doesn’t/cant/wont (delete as appropriate) change it. It is so blatantly obvious a lot of these players cannot play the way we used to. But he still sets us up like we should be able to. As if it’s magically going to come back.

Lewis instead of Khusanov was baffling. One is fast, aggressive and a good defender. The other is Lewis.

Then I’d rather Khusanov again when Ake came off if it meant Stones staying in midfield. Not Kovacic.

Then how Kev stayed on for 83 minutes is beyond me. He was knackered half an hour in. Spent the second half walking round in circles. Crying out for energy up top to stop them coming at our defence and Pep allowed it to continue.

Yet more baffling tactical moves from him.
