Pep is here 2 years tops. I'd rather he just tries to win and play best ball according to his philosophy. And let whoever the new manager is in a few years build his own team.
We need to rebuild the team this summer,There is no way those at the top of the club want anyone other than the best coach in football, Pep, overseeing that transition. Then in 2 years hand over a winning confident settled team. Not achance Pep or the board want more disruption than absoloutely necessary.

this slump is very worrying. losing to Spurs in the Carabao and then we just get deeper and deeper in this hole. imagine all the things he said in trainings since that game , all the things we worked on in trainings and it got us this horror run with horror results.

him saying after the derby he doesnt know what to do maybe he is not good enough. I think partially he is right, he does not know how to turn it around. "give me my players back", he has most of his players available, and they are in dog shit form. absolute no guarantee Stones, Ake, Akanji, Bobb wouldnt be in this lethargic form if they were available. why would they be the exception when almost every single other player are below par right now.

Villa up next, another test, full week to prepare, but problem is Emery is preparing as well.
But how much training time has he actually had with them, look at the fixtures since the fa cup, then the euros, straight into charity shield then premier league a game, a day of recovery one maybe two days training if that, travel to a game, international breaks. If you look when it started it was when we first played 4 aways, so couple travel, recovery I bet he’s had little time to get a team riddled with injuries to gel.
Lewis has been pulled from pillar to post to fill lastly been left back, what time did he have to get ready for that two days, same with Nunes. When we got 4 decent defenders it gave the rest of the team confidence that if they lost the ball it would be recovered that was the Forest game out only win.
I do think he needs stronger support staff to pull him to the side and maybe give his head a wobble to be a little more pragmatic with his tactics with what’s available especially as this is foreign territory for him now.
I fully expect Villa to overrun us and lose again unless he sits back and tries to play in the break, I can but hope we get something.
I just checked the longest we’ve had between games is after Feynoord before Liverpool that was 4 days this is the only time this season barring the international breaks we’ve had more than 5 days for the team to rest and train together!.
