Do you think players with the quality we need are going to have the same willingness to join us without champions league football? If so you need to take the blue tinted glasses off. It will also undoubtedly hamper the amount we can spend to continue rebuilding the squad.
Think you've got the completely wrong end of the stick mate.

There’s about £400m of talent that’s underperforming under Pep, I’d rather see if it can be salvaged by a new coach than sell it on and then fulfil their potential and realise that Guardiola was the problem.

Plus the days of us having the best squad in Europe are gone, and the succession signings are a few levels below, and as Pep has no track record of overachievement it’s likely we’ll be spending the rest of his tenure where we currently are anyway - challenging for top 4. If that’s going to be the case, I’d rather do it with exciting, uncomplicated football with a young manager who might integrate the next Palmer, Rogers etc than the garbage currently being churned out.
so what your saying is your happy to be battling top 4 every season irola is a good manager and may well succeed at a top club but discarding our greatest ever manager after one bad season for someone who's hasn't won anything

I’m all for giving him a chance mate
yeah it was the comment that said about he will play his favourite next season as if it was a given that was where i was coming from in give him the chance to change i've seen people just want him gone saying there no chance he can change things next season without given him the chance

Lol. Absolutely no way you are a City fan - and if you are, please stop being one

A lot of the players here have won a hell of a lot. Maybe after winning four in a row, Pep has struggled to fire them up again, which he needs to be ruthless in the summer and reset with fresh new hungry players.
That is what has happened . Every season we should have been evolving the squad and bringing in hungry players who want to win titles and phasing out the old guard but pep is sentimental and he even brought back gundo who in truth was well past it . I doubt pep was be ruthless to these players and now we are seeing the outcome .

Love him to change and even this season when we have attacked yo un can see the quick turn over . I’ve always said every team needs a David batty type player who can just roam around the centre circle and destroy and disrupt teams and basically stop attacks before they happen . Not everyone need to we world class passers and we also need a good take no shit defender who knows how to tackle .

yeah i'm not saying pep hasn't annoyed the he'll out of me this season i just can't fathom sacking him for one had season i want to see how viana tackles this summer transfer and then see what pep has left next season if we are still in this same position then the conversations would have to happen

Agree that there is no way we can sack Pep after this awful season.

We certainly have no right to be champions every season however at the very least I would have expected us to have qualified for the latter stages of the champions league quite easily plus been in a comfortable place for a top four finish.

There are many reasons for the rapid demise of the best team in the country and probably Europe last season…..not least the dramatic drop off from some of the senior players compared to last season added to the injuries, the age of the squad and I’m sure the constant negativity and speculation about the 115 charges and a potential point deduction has also not helped.

However Pep is also culpable:

  • Turning down the chance of refreshing the Squad in the Summer
  • Confusing tactics including the inverted full back which hangs both full backs out to dry. Everyone can see (including the opposition)that a long diagonal ball over Gvardiol who is shifting over to the right along with the rest of the defence to cover the missing fullback is causing us to concede in virtually every game….why can’t Pep see it ?
  • The constant playing of the wingers on their wrong sides means that Haaland does not get any kind of service from the wings.
  • The most disappointing aspect of Pep’s time at City is reluctance to use youth especially ones that have come up through the Youth set up.
I really hope Pep is here next season to continue the rebuild however I also hope his ego is not too big for him to admit some of his mistakes and alter his tactics and handling of the younger players.

The rebuild has started, in fact we are probably half way through it. And it is Peps rebuild. Can’t wait myself.

Yes if you ignore the 5 young players that arrived in January..If the next couple of years don’t excite you that’s your problem nobody elses..
Young players for sure. Are they good players? Khus looks alright, sav on the left. The rest, let's find out.

We haven’t won a big or must win game yet this year. Hopefully that changes starting with Bournemouth in Cup. The most disappointing thing for me this year is that there hasn’t been one big victory to celebrate against a proper side.
We beat Chelsea and Newcastle, spurs away too recently. all these were crucial as we had we lost or draw these we would be in awful situation now in the league.

but all the games vs dippers, rags, Arsenal and all the CL games + Carabao exit were mostly awful experiences. from 10 CL games this season we only beat Brugge, Bratislava and Prague that is fucking poor. Brugge was the most decent side of those we beat and Aston Villa just ripped them apart in two legged last 16 tie.
wee also lost to Brighton, Bournemouth, Villa in the league, the 4-0 loss to Spurs at home bloody hell. not beating Dyche's Everton at home, throwing away 2-0 lead vs Brentford. being ahead twice vs Brighton just yesterday still not win, the Forest loss as well when it was a 6 pointer.
some of collapses were brutal like 2-1 vs Real at home losing to 2-3.
Arsnal 5-1 loss, vs PSG 2-0 up losing 4-2. vs rags 1-0 up at home gifting Amorim all 3 points.

many, many, many very poor results overall. and sadly we still have a few coming.

other than that all good.:)
