Dont want Doku starting. He is best when he comes in against q tired d
Defense. And our overall chemistry is better without Doku.

Doku himself is great when he plays, but everyone else is stationary and simply try to just get it to Doku to do something. G

I'd rather start off with Gundo, O'Reilly' and everyone in well known positions where they are moving and making decisions at top speed.

When O'Reilly moves to the middle he is more tentative. I'd rather save that for when we need Doku
Putting him on in the middle was ridiculous. They had 2/3 on Doku. Have the lad bombing past him on the left to give Doku a simple pass if they continue to double up. If they start going with O’Riley,Doku would be one on one with the chance to get inside and skin someone. That’s about 50th on the list of illogical team and tactics today though.

Fair enough.

I was only suggesting O Reilly in the middle IF Doku was wide.

Otherwise, yeah, keep him wide.

Id personally also have Foden on for KdB in your setup.

Would love to hear the logic behind both fullbacks in the first half playing so narrowly. Was almost as if they’d been instructed to use the markings of the penalty box as their tramlines, most odd.

Every game is the final. The he changed whole team making Phil‘s starting more important than winning.
Pep is keep coming back to his ideas which are now outdated and outplayed.

I have avoided Foden because i didn't want to be sentimental. Something i constantly accuse Pep of... Foden has been very bad this season, so I cant in good faith include him...

To me, he is a last 20 minutes throw on when you are throwing all caution to the winds and trying to buy a goal because he is one of our best scorers.

But he has just been bad at practically every thing else this season. His movement, passing, hustle, positioning, impact have all been shit. The only thing he has done well this year is open up his body to ghost pass a defender and then shoot. That's it! He still has that specific magic...

Everything else has regressed severely. He has been a shell of his former self.

Hope he comes back strong next season, but if I were a manager, i'd be considering serious competition for his position.

If you read back, no I didnt - I asked for your opinion on whether we'd finish top 3 or even top 5, you came back with an opta % for some reason instead of actually putting your neck out in saying if we will or not?

Therefore I asked for the 'opta %'s' for the game today (which you didn't give) to prove that they are irrelevant and in no way a good indicator of what is actually going to happen in the future.
You asked me if I'd give 100%

I quoted a statistical model that says the chance is 94% and that I'd go with that

You then said it was irrelevant.

So why did you ask?

Thats simply true by definition then if you already agree he has been worse this season.

Maybe next season he makes less mistakes, I really hope so, but he will never be at his mercurial best as he was in the past.

Im okay with that. His best is past him.

Whats left is still a really really top manager, who makes mistakes like the rest.
You cannot possibly say that he won't be absolutely incredible again next season. You cannot know that.

Given his career so far it's actually more likely that he is than isnt.

Foden is definitely worse this season than last.

But id still prefer him over KdB who has clearly lost the magic.

Or just rotate between them for halves.

Something he probably concocted up in that overactive imagination of his :(

Its frickin Southampton. No need for making experimental tweaks.

Nope, if it was that easy every manager would be winning, being a fickle entitled bunch when it isn't working makes us look small time.

Is that where we are at now?
We just gave a clean sheet to a team that has lost 28 of 36 league games. Seems like every manager in the league is capable of getting 3 points against Southampton and most don't have the quality of squad we do.

I am working with what is known, you are making assumptions.

I didnt base it off this 1 game, but an entire season. Maybe he stops making boneheaded decisions, who knows, but for 8 months (quite a long time) he has made them.

He will with a better team get better results next season, most likely.

But it is very likely he wont be far and above beyond all the other managers tactically like he was in the past as we have seen time and time again this season.

Hence... past his best.
