Oh behave pal.
We're possibly entering an end of an era with Pep.

Will he rebuild and go again?

I'd like to think so. Truth is Palace wanted it more than us today. They dug in, rode their luck and scored when it mattered then they hung on to what they had with all their heart?

Us?

Fanny fart. As a team we are spent. The last 4 years of trebles and 4 in a row have killed us. Throw in players getting old, young players trying to integrate themselves into the team and on top of that injuries and fuck me it was huge injuries then your looking to the gods for help.

Today wasn't a surprise to me, we just aren't the team of yesteryear.
I think we pretty well agree apart from one thing. I just don't see a sudden change under Pep back to the great teams of 2018 to the Treble team. I think he's washed.

To be honest I don't blame the fact we didn't play a recognised DM as a reason of why we lost today.
We haven't had one for most of our games this season, or many on our recent good run of matches.

What did he say about the Henderson handball outside box?
I turned the TV off at full time, just read a few snippets about him complaining about the number of minutes added on, he'd have been safer complaining about something warranted like the non red card.

Not even going to bother arguing with those saying he's done.

The players take the blame for me and I think that'll be proven right next season.

He'll be brutal this summer, can see him telling a lot of players to find a new home.

4 great seasons in the last 5 years, 6 great seasons in 8 years, he'll bring us back to the promised land.

I hope you’re right, he looks absolutely tired. If reports are correct and he thought in the summer he could do another year with this squad, then it’s absolutely arrogance on his side, putting himself before the team.

Why, when we’ve picked up form, in the last two games, why has he then gone, ah you know let’s fuck off the entire system that’s got us results, sack of the wingbacks, put in Haaland for no reason and so on.

He’s his own worst enemy with overthinking.

How many important games has he lost us through this? Single-handedly.

What a frustrating man.
Because Haaland has returned to fitness. That’s it.

In fairness, can you imagine the uproar if Haaland was fit but just sat on the bench.

The fact is, we should be a better team with him in it, so it's up to Pep to find a way to make that work.

The players available today were more than capable of beating Palace, but the application from Pep and the players has been piss poor all season.

Not really sure who you point the finger is, truth is we don't have enough fingers!

Tactics outdated, possession just to have possession no threat just sideways passing. Peps a legend but this is painful. Also he now has a history of overthinking finals
I don't think the tactics are outdated, I just don't think we have the players to play those tactics anymore.

Centrally we lack pace, vision, tempo and nobody can beat a man, and our attacking options out wide both wingers and full backs are dire, they create next to nothing.

Should Pep be more pragmatic, and have changed things around tactically? Absolutely, and that's on him.

Chelsea all over again.

I'm nowhere near as gutted as then, because I was expecting it after Southampton. Why do a tactical masterclass v forest, a better team. Just to throw it away?

The last final I knew when I saw their team sheet what was going to happen, call me mystic meg. But the players were on a bender.

Palace actually didn't dig in. Its not even particularly in Palace's DNA to be defensive. Qw were just so slow that they had no other choice.

Everytime we sped it up half a tic, they were opened up. But we just couldn't do it enough.
Yeah they didn't need to dig in as we wasn't really penetrating them or making the goalie work.
Oh tell a lie, we made Henderson work when our lethal marksman handed the ball to Marmoush for the pen.

What the actual fuck,
For a striker to give up the chance of a free shot from 12 yards baffles me but then again Haaland isn't the force he once was, bottled it not wanting that spot kick, 100%.

The greatest example of that is throwing Echeverri on.

It was an ego play. I know something you don't. And had Echeveri scored, he'd be hailed a genius. But in reality, this is just poor coaching behavior.

Disorganized and throwing Hail Marys
The Echeverri decision might be the lens that shows him up currently. No chance he throws a raw kid on like that if he's completely on it. We hear so much about players having to learn the Pep way (overstated these days, maybe in the first few seasons) and he chucks him on?

But isn't what you've described the definition of someone's tactics being outdated?

he had chance to get something in we were missing in January. he decided to OK 3 transfers he hardly used then. not many manager has this luxury to spend huge in January after he himself refused to spend some in the summer.

I totally can imagine he sticks with Stones, Ake, Akanji all remaining next season and that will completely block Reis and Khusanov making those transfers even stranger than they are now. Nico G. cannot get minutes when Rodri is not even fit. if Kova and Bernrdo still around next season that will be less minutes for Nico as Rodri is back too by that time. while Marmoush in Frankfurt is a very different player than Marmoush at City. why we think a great player in transition is a great fit for our style which is the polar opposite.

I won’t blame Pep that for today. Was he wrong to shoehorn Akanji at RB when Nunes has been one of our best players this season ? Yes should have subbed him on when Foden came on and Akanj was crossing the ball to the south stand ? Yes

Should he have played Nico G instead of Bernardo or subbed him on so that Dias who has no passing ability and Akanji weren’t touching the ball so much ? Yes

Should he have put on McAtee and Nunes ? Yes

But the team itself was useless and uninspiring. We are simply not good. I’m almost reaching my breaking point with Pep. The decisions his made this season and last (mustn’t be forgotten) have been borderline unexplainable. I know he’s mentally physically and emotionally tired but he can’t leave us in this mess. That’s 2 Fa cup finals he’s pissed away. That’s unacceptable.

Go back to the drawing board. Find a way to win without KDB/Rodri/Foden saving your job every time. Create a system. Adopt new polices. Look at Barca, PSG and Pool for how they play.

I’m glad we’re near the end of his tennure. Get top 4. Get all the players available. Get Wirtz Cherki Rodygo Reinjders Nouri and either Munoz/Vanderson for RB and go win trophies again.

I agree. The issue the club have is to let it go on to next season and see no improvement by autumn and have to sack him. I'd rather that doesn't happen him. He needs to walk away and re-charge himself.

Some and obviously not all the fan base is turning against him. That number grows week after week it’s a slippery slope

If he gets a CL spot he should walk if we miss out on CL he should be sacked either way he shouldn’t be here next season.

Pep won us 4 league titles in a row the previous season something no Premier League team have done. He deserves one more crack.

It’s just stale. Same players with same game plan with the same manager. They have won everything.

We need fresh blood and if pep can’t stomach that he will have to leave.
