My only concern/question is, will he really be better than Pellegrini or Mancini?
City seems to idolise the Barcelona way, since we have ex-Barca chiefs in charge who have seen their 'way' work, but to me we have still not had an A+ coach and I worry we could continue to underachieve without one.
So for me, even if Vieira being promoted is the 'holistic' thing to do, I'd have Pep here before him all day long because Pep is a proven winner and has managed two bigger clubs than City, so would be able to handle the job quite well (on paper).
Vieira could turn out as good as Pep... but is that possibility worth risking more years of potential underachievement IF the scenario emerges where we could have either Pep or Vieira?
(or make Vieira his assistant and everyone is happy)
Aye, I share this view too. If Pellegrini is to go then Pep and with Vieira as number 2 would be the way to go for me. Just depends what happens in the summer. Wenger will be gone in the summer, I'm certain of it, so Vieira will either stay or go to Arsenal. I can't see Arsenal taking him on as the main man but I can see him going there as number 2.
The ideal for me would be for Vieira to stay, step up to number 2, and bring some kids with him.
You think Pep's never had sex with a woman either? Wow that's a big call mate.burning blue soul said:pep is the simon cowell of football management!!!

Why? He's one of the very best.

His teams albeit very successful are one of the most boring sides to watch. Pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass. It's ok in Spain where they chew on sunflower seeds either side of a siesta at the game but here it wouldn't work just like the Bavarians are getting bored of it now.
Messi made Barca exciting to watch not their football.

But also his style of football is boring.
They weren't the greatest team in history. They were the best team of the televised era.ElanJo said:His Barca was the greatest team in history.
The football was artistry and it was unplayable.

Bayern score lots of goals and are nice to watch. Admittedly, Dortmund were better to watch but they're not champions. I'm certain we'd accept a reduction in the excitement if it meant continued success.

Let's be honest, it would have been difficult to f*ck up with a team like that.
I'm not saying he doesn't deserve some credit but I don't think you can say he was responsible for the emergence of the Barca side.

With Heynckes's Bayern I'd be glued to the game. With Guardiola's I find myself getting easily distracted, I'll end up coming online and reading something or posting on a forum and then look up if they score. The possession game has become monotonous for me. I'm pretty sick of it.
I've enjoyed Simeone's Altético and Ancelotti's Madrid more than Guardiola's Bayern. It's just pass-pass-pass-pass-pass for the sake of it at times.
Puyol Xavi Iniesta and Messi were all in the fist team well before Guardiola got there. They'd already won La Liga and the CL too and the season before he got to Barça they finished second in La Liga and got to the CL semis in a season where eight of their first teamers separated from their wives or partners.CITYBOY1000 said:They landed lucky with a bunch of kids coming through their academy and particularly Messi.
