Pep: I would have been sacked at Barca or Bayern.

If you are are outraged at this then think about what you would rather he say...the opposite maybe?

"I think we have done excellent"

"We are right up there with the big clubs of Europe now"

"I don't think I'd have done anything differently this season. I think we pretty much got it spot on"

"Challenging on all fronts was the objective when I came here and I can safely say I nailed it"

Doesn't work does it.

So then what the fuck do you want him to say?

Well said. More knives out among the fans than the media or the club.

It is becoming rather irritating and someone from the club needs to have a word with him about this.

But then, the way our whole PR department is run, it's a completely rudderless ship, no one at the club speaks up for the club or the fans, so I guess no one is going to call Guardiola to task.

He constantly calls United a "Big Club" and they're about to finish 6th and I guarantee they won't be sacking their manager.

Guardiola is trying to deflect from his own short comings this season by constantly inferring were not a big club, we don't have big players and we don't have the fans of a big club. Well, we managed to win 2 league titles in the 3 or 4 years before you got here just fine.

He's a brilliant manager who has seen the season come undone because he's tried to over-complicate things. If we'd stuck to playing 433 with Silva and DeBruyne in the middle for the whole season, not played Bravo, we'd have run Chelsea pretty close.[/QUOTE
Nobody is going to have word with him and that's the problem or at least part of it, I get the idea its all 'one lump or two Sir?' at the club with everyone wiping his arse.

I had very high hopes this season after Pelli's City didn't take a chance last season to get to the CL final when it was there staring us in the face but even accounting for injuries/piss poor referees he's shown himself to be as pigheaded (where has the fantastic preparation been) as the last guy who also had a system and never changed it and look what happened to him when he left a big percentage of posters were still blowing smoke up Pellers arse and the ground was empty for his speech.

This fella is going the same way, the fans I know cover a wide range from Juniors to OAP's and not too many think he's the dogs bollocks he thinks he is himself.

Threads like this are like watching Sunday Supplement or watching Soccer Saturday as the same crap is spouted almost word for word.

Only surprised it took 3 pages before Mancini was given a mention pmsl.

Can't believe some people have issues with these comments.

A) We're a big club in England but not in the CL, with just one semi final

B) He would have been sacked at those clubs, even Bayern if he'd have taken the treble winners to 3rd or 4th

C) He's admitted it's not good enough and there's more to come

You would be forgiven for thinking he has come out and said what the few detractors have demanded but then again, there is nowt like moving the goalposts for a few sharks who think they can smell blood in the water.

I'd suggest occasionally he keeps his mouth shut.

Let's face it, never any chance of him being sacked with his mates in charge, besides, we're not that club anymore.

Keep schtum, get on with it and let's have 2 (hopefully more) good years with plenty of success and great football.

Compare and contrast with Conte. It's his first season too!
Pragmatism by the bucket load. He will have £200m to spend this summer too.
Our owner doesn't have an ejector seat button like Abramovich but Pep will be sacked if he has another season without MAJOR improvements.

I imagine being the honorable sort of man he is, another season like this one, he'd walk even if the management wanted him to continue.

If he has a similar season next year he won't be sacked because of the effort getting him here in the first place. I do think he'd walk though instead. This job is a big rebuild one, which he hasn't had experience of before.

6/10 from me so far.

He comes across as mildly unhinged at times..

Wishful thinking on your part imo.
Not at all. I imagine we will win something next year. But I also think that with the rumored spend this summer added to last years and to come up empty handed again would make Pep question himself.

He's not wrong.

We are not Barcelona. We are not Bayern. The expectancy is not the same.

We are not at the level we should be domestically and this has been a poor season regardless of where we finish from here.

Based on that, he's lucky. Absolutely.

Stop worrying about our spend.

Liverpool have spent a £Billion since the PL inception and guess what?

Fuck all to show for it.

Meanwhile we have won 2 league titles, 2 league Cups and FA cup and got to the CL semi final as well as qualified for the fucking thing regularly.

Thats success regardless of how many times you say it isnt.
