Pep - Manager of the Season 2017/18

Only one winner for me and that's Roy hodgson.
Came in at palace on no points and no goals, much ridicule from the press, palace fans annoyed at his appointment and rooted to the foot of the table after 9 games.
Done a fantastic job I'm my opinion, no I change that last statement, he has done an absolutely amazing job at palace and deserves every bit of the credit and accolades.

Think he's done a decent job but there'd only been four league games played by that point and they were only 3 points off safety. It's taken them until last week to pull away from the bottom three. Bournemouth were in exactly the same position as Palace after four games but put a run together after Xmas that meant they were well out danger long before Palace. Leicester were in a similary perilous situation at one point and Puel dug them out of it straight away.

I think Palace have actually played quite well and been unlucky in some games and they also had terrible injury problems, but they have a better squad at their disposal than some of the teams around them. I'd say Wagner keeping that Huddersfield side above them for virtually all of the season and still having a chance of safety probably outshines what Hodgson has done. For me though, if you want a non top 6 elite option, you'd have to go for Dyche given he's finished best of the rest and with a weaker squad than many. Would be absurd to award it to anyone other than Pep though tbh. He's had a lot of cash at his disposal but the team he's built and the way we've played transcends all of that.

Their are 2 awards

The LMA award whuch amyone could win throughout the divisions, and the divisional awards for each league.

Pep should win the premier league one with no contest, but the overall award I could see lower division managers votin for dyche, though you could argue the nuno santo at wolve deserves it over him, though in reality Pep should win both LMA and premier award

I really wouldn't be surprised if Pep doesn't win either.
In fact I think it would be a surprise if he did based on past history and the sustained media campaign for Dyche to win it.

Dyche has had a terrific season, Hodgson has had a terrific season, Benitez has had a terrific season. Carvalhal and/or Wagner will have had a terrific season if their team stays up.

There's only one Pep.

Pep don’t get it breaking all these records it will show up the people who vote there total bias and jealousy.

Is that you Arry?

With things like Aguero/Silva always missing out on TOTS I always see other rival fans saying things like "well, there were better players there in those seasons, Aguero and Silva are just more consistent season-to-season".

Alright, fair enough. But if the manager who wins FOUR manager of the month awards, sets the record for points in a season, goals in a season, goal difference in a season, and wins in a season loses out to the manager who (respectably, I must say) guides his team to seventh, then it's time to admit that they want to see City win as little as possible when the outcome is out of our hands.

Pat Nevin was on US radio this morning claiming Dyche should win it. At least that's what I thought I heard; hard to understand his accent, which sounds like he's cramming a peanut butter sandwich in his mouth while he's talking.

That would surprise me because Nevin is one of Pep's biggest cheerleaders in the media.

He was going on about "it's one thing to play beautiful football; it's another to make the most out of what you have and play to your players' strengths." I believe close to his exact words were "There's talk about Dyche being named manager of the year, and I agree with that."
