I'm on board now. He's right. Wish I had got the 3 for £90 now.
I know but I edited too(completely agree btw... Mourinho school of thought almost isn't it?)... Kyiv were delt with by EUFA with a fine and a stadium ban... some fans were allowed in big deal (surely as adults we can be happy with just getting our point across and then getting on with life?). Yes it was a little unfair on the few blues who were going over there(not 40 thousand as some would try and make out) but it's seems very much like a case of sensationalist thinking which just gives the impression City fans are all pompous little jobsworths more interested in pointing the finger and being the victims than enjoying the football(which we should be concentrating on right now), I don't agree with that thinking and I will tell any so called superfan exactly the same. Certainly not going to be pressured into supporting the booing it's cringe worthy. It wasnt this calender year, nor was it kiev. It was the Cska game.
He changed his post. He had VK supporting written in it which qas for the CSKA incident and not kiev. Also the booing was because of that CSKA match and it started from that day. Some just do it to potray the us against the world.
Sorry but we would have been lucky to have 40k in last night31,000 missing at Real Madrid tonight. There would of been a near full house last night so abut poor to mention empty seats tonight.
And this coupled with the fact that we have very few day trippers and out of towners. We are still a very unfashionable and provincial club,we have as you say an aeging fan base, the percentage of match going fans in the 16-25 age group is very low or so it appears to me.
Decided to give these comments a thread of its own because it's the first time during the recent successful period which I can remember our own manager asking for more from the fans.
He also made reference to us turning out for the PL but not the Champions league and needing us there.
Lastly mentioned he wants us to forget booing the CL anthem, let the past go and move on.
He really is involved in everything that happens at the club. Given the circumstances of how the game ended up being played tonight, I doubt it was tonight in particular he's referring to but more in the general sense.
What do we think?
The booing lasts 30 seconds then it's done. The singing tonight for a supposed shit crowd was quality throughout the second half. What does being a 'superfan' have to do with anything?I know but I edited too(completely agree btw... Mourinho school of thought almost isn't it?)... Superfans thinking they speak for everybody?(too many little cliques on here like that really but that's forums for you) I disagree with it mate made a good case for it too, end of story really. Also we've got people here saying "Pep's no place saying that"... does that not seem a little like delusions of grandeur? Pep can say what he thinks if he wants to, he was more appealing to the fans than criticising... and he's actually very important to the club. The booing lasts 30 seconds then it's done. It's true, last season was the first time I didn't attend a game in 20 odd years. The same for my dad. As you say fans get used to not going and I know many who have dropped off in the last 3/4 years.SeasonCards became too expensive five years ago and as a result people either sacked off the cups or were fired to sack of City altogether.
I know lads who were right up there in Loyalty Points, lads you'd never expect to stop going to City in a million years, who don't miss going one bit and have found other things to spend their spare cash on that's cheaper rather than scrimp and save every penny just to afford a SC.
The club probably think they've done us a big favour this year freezing prices but they've been too expensive for ages. Even fans came out with "well done City" when it was announced that £750 was a fair price for what was £525 not that long ago for a club in exactly the same position they were when it was that price. That's not a "well done" that's a "fuck me I can stretch my attendance, just, for one more year, phew".
It might have been cheap tonight but it's fucking expensive across the season as a whole so the odd games where it's cheap don't make up for the extortion of ticket prices and travel expenses over the 50+ games we play.
We've got halfway there with the £30 away tickets but there needs to be far far far more cheap SeasonCards available for fans.
It's not just about buying a ticket neither, it's about transport to games whether it be Beswick or Bournemouth or Besiktas. So yeah, £17.50 was a decent price tonight but a tank+half of petrol twice in a week next week going down to Swansea twice and £75 coming out for a SC on payday tomorrow is not.
Many many fans have fucked the cup scheme off because the price of the SC is more than enough.
