I have to ask - What the feck did Nastasic do wrong last season?
Our best defender last season in my opinion (Zab only comes higher as a better all rounder - not a better defender).

Nothing but centre backs get injured suspended Lescott going will leave us short, 60 games a season is it that difficult to comprehend

I think the problem would be Pepe would demand / expect / seek assurances before joining that we would be first choice centre half which pushes Nastic down the pecking order - however i do think we need a top top centre half for the CL and Pepe is a top top players - RM / Barca games aside when Mouriniho told him to behave like a twat he played pretty wel in the other games

His age is an issue though

We bought him for £3 mill iirc, so I doubt we'd make much profit unfortunately

Big hell no. Rather have Nastasic every day of week. Plenty of other experienced CBs we can get for a lot less and without the PR baggage.

Given they have signed Isco the last thing we should be doing is giving them money to strengthen elsewhere by taking from them fringe players at exorbitant and ridiculous transfer fees. There must be some quality centre backs around the world who just as good and a lot cheaper remembering as always no point bringing in a player if he isn't better than the player you have already. Is Pepe really a 20m upgrade on Lescott?

Tbf, we could be funding them to sign Rooney or even Bale, which would potentially cripple our league rivals.
