Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

You’re perfectly entitled to your opinion, though I would imagine that it will hold little truck with the vast majority of long-suffering supporters. ‘Rumours’ and ‘Many’ are simply your attempt to spin your chosen position. I too have heard ‘strong rumours’ that Guardiola will soon sign a contract extension and that ‘all of the players’ are fully supportive and cannot wait to play. The next few years are going to be fun.

However, judging by the repeatedly negative posts you have made about Guardiola, ‘Pep is a huge coward’, and players, Ake ‘Not good enough’ , Laporte ‘ Seems to bottle it in the big games’, Sterling ‘ He has been beyond garbage for months now’ , Stones ‘is a coward’, and Angelino ‘is fucking shite’, maybe ‘supporting’ Manchester City is just not your forte. :-(
When you struggle to win an argument on its own merit, you know either the argument or its advocate has a flaw.

Better to call a spade a spade. City enjoyed a disappointing season, and Pep finished it off on a sour note.

It isn't difficult to go through a persons post history to pick and choose things to help "spin your chosen position"

Although some seem to hide their post history :-(
Oh, don’t worry, I’m your antithesis, I see the positive in everyone. ;-)

We are covered no matter what happens. But if Pep goes the Messi signing has more chances of going pear shaped.

I believe Pep should either extend his deal or go this Summer. I don't want him managing City without a long term commitment to the club but I want him to extend because overall I recognise that even with the blot on his copybook he's a great coach.
As I posted earlier, see the Bielsa situation at leeds, he hasn't committed yet, but he/they continue to sign players, and plan for the coming season, despite his contract having actually run out.

Pep has been a bit busy in recent weeks, and he's now probably enjoying a short and fully deserved break, so the panic to get him signed or f**k him off is bordering on the ridiculous.

These don't seem very positive to me mate. I can't believe you want to extend a manager that plays antiquated football!

I know we’re England’s sole representative in the competition, but are we obliged to play English football from the 1980s?

A 6 out of 10 season, and that feels strange to say when we won a trophy, but we’re not in the 1970s now.

Too brittle mentally, too many players on contracts that offer nothing, and a defence that is a shambles.

Is there a site where you can see the line ups for every game listed next to each other? Not sure we’ve played the same back 4, same 11, too often.

Another bloated squad that contains too many competent players that people somehow believe are far better than they are because they’re wearing our shirt. Too much sentimentality as well, with contracts extended to players who should have been moved on long before now.

We’ve created a harmonious and comfortable place, apart from here, but to be consistently successful and win the CL, we need to learn to be ruthless and realise that players peak and never regain/kick on.

Players will know this one rests on Guardiola, yet again.

great football is irrelevant if you end up with little. Charity shield doesn’t really count does it, we didn’t start our season to win the league cup, we’ve lost the fa cup and champions league to far inferior sides. Our 100 point season United came second and lost the fa cup final, second in two major comps, no one would say that was successful. We’ve had a bad year but we are allowed it considering what we’ve achieved. Time to regroup and go again
Trying to play great football has always been relevant to City supporters in the 54 years I have been a supporter, even in the lean years when we only got a few glimpses of it every now and again. Enjoy watching great football while you can, it's an underrated reward for 90 minutes of your spare time and memories don't need shiny trophies to brighten the down times.

If we don’t win the league next year they will. If he’s matched Pep for PL titles with that squad plus won a European cup he will have done the better job. Not saying who is better, talking about the jobs at their 2 current clubs.
Well, I guess I beg to differ. What is being built at City, in my opinion, is a much more dynamic skilful game with greater strength in depth. It is more exciting and enjoyable to watch and will bring more success and happiness to the fans. Liverpool are playing a high press by bypassing the midfield with success that I don’t think will last, they sacrifice competitions because they can only win one trophy per season. Pep is doing a better job.

Different rules?

1. Are both managers fielding players to win all cups?

2. What is the impact of the officials?

3. Why only the 2 clubs, surely United are now in the mix?

We win the league cup each year by going strong for about 3 games lots of clubs aren’t interested. We have the squad to go the FA Cup not arsed what the scousers do it it.

Can’t include officials and it sounds ridiculous.

utd won’t get anywhere near Liverpool next season so I think it’ll be us of them again. With utd and Chelsea possibly challenging the year after.
