Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

When is the quote/interview from? Is it months ago, and just dragged up/rehashed tonight to create the impression of a club in turmoil, or has he actually said that today?
if it’s the former, fair enough, but if it’s the latter, it can’t be pure coincidence with the Kane news. Can it?
it was from today

like i said many times in the kane thread.. pep is leaving when the deal runs out and this is why the panic signings of kane and grealish. its like we are trying to buy the champions league for pep and see him off with crown champions of europe..

this season has now took a big turn with kane not coming and we are looking to ronaldo to dig us out of a hole
(striker less) forget saying jessu sterling torres KDB foden can play there ?? am not buying it ?
i also said that KDB is not happy with the missing striker and looked to have a one on one with khaldoon
and he promised KDB we will back and win the champions league

what are manchester city plans for life after pep ? does the club rip up the old project of the Spanish mafia and go down a new route ? the so called DNA of the club needs to change if we want to keep at the top of the tree.
we have seen in the last 2 seasons that clubs are catching up and working out pep and the setup

we can keep the club tick over nicely in being a top 4 club... but life after pep will be hard because of the winning mentality and picking up silverware like its fallen leaves

I think his two more years comments are probably just the same thing that he always says. He'll get to the end of his contract and then reevaluate if he wants to do a bit longer. Not anything in it imo

Funny timing though init, with it being right after the club failed to sign his number 1 target.

Any time Pep talks to Brazilian press he mentions his desire to manage internationally. He seems to want, but know he has no chance of getting, the Brazil job.

I initially thought Brazil wouldn’t appeal to Pep. But they’re the most decorated international team, different scenery and culture. Would also be a bit of challenge getting Brazil back to being the team they used to be.

he really shouldnt have said it,everybody is reporting nowthat hes leaving city in 2023,he should have left that private

it was from today
Ok ta. In that case, I’d say it’s not a huge leap to assume he was pretty dischuffed we didn’t bid enough to secure HK and/or possibly news about Ronaldo coming in maybe??
Either that or the general conduct of one or more parties in the Kane sage has alienated him from the whole club football circus in general and reaffirmed or hardened his decision to leave in 2 years.

Which is bloody depressing considering we had the perfect chance to do it in Porto until he tinkered unnecessarily with the fucking team

He should of kept his mouth shut no reason at all for him to say what he said today. I'm sure Grealish signed for City this summer "Im going to be working with Pep for the best years of my career" all of two years!
How are we fixed now next summer? In my eyes pretty fucked trying to get players in now them knowing Pep will only be there for another season.

Not a good day today.

When did we decide to panic buy Kane and Grealish because I am pretty sure they have been our targets since like April and we even wanted Kane last year when Pep had not yet renewed so you are talking bollocks to me.

He isn't daft, it's the same as when he has played a player out of position or an out of form player constantly when there is better on the bench, yes he will be going in 2 seasons most likely but when he wants something he always finds a way of forcing the issue, he's probably sulking about us not getting Kane.

Poor timing from Pep, not coincidental that the day we officially miss out on Kane this quote is given to the press. He’s obviously pissed off.

Just adds to the press circus around the club, can see SSN and talk sport counting down the days till he leaves now....makes transfers much harder over the next 3 windows now too.

At least we now have two years to find a successor. I didn’t get the Kane thing at all to be honest, he was too expensive for the ten or fifteen extra goals per season. Pep will leave us in a better place than when he joined is for sure, and we have a squad capable of winning any competition, it is now up to the players

Pep was going to eventually leave cause he never stays in one place for a long time and at City he is going to complete 7 years and thats huge for him. His plans to manage an International Team makes sense and gives him the chance to be less stressed with the daily routine of Club Football

We will eventually get another top class coach who will win us the CL if Pep didn't before he leaves. All great things come to an end and it would have been an amazing 7 years under him. Even if we don't win the CL and we win another PL, one FA Cup and another Carabao Cup I think it will be a major accomplishment for Pep!
