“My sources” lol, aren’t you the important oneMy sources tell me Pep is looking to agree to extend for ONE season - maybe a rolling one year extension.
If I'm right, great, if not then don't blame the messenger I'm only saying what I've heard.
I agree with some of this. A whole host of critics seem to think that the only reason City appointed Pep was to win the Champions League when it's obvious that a coaches job is to raise the general football standing of the club. This revisionist nonsense that now looks to rewrite and establish the narrative that pep himself lost us the CL four times in a row needs bloody stopped and challenged.
Liverpool, we hot absolutely fucked over by the referee.
Spurs we got fucked over by VAR. That isn't City bias, that really happened, i know fans of both that don't deny it.
Monaco, one of those crazy games where a plucky underdog (who also won the french league that year) was having an epic season and momentum, and our players had brain fart moments.
And lyon, fair enough poor formation and set-up and puzzling lack of substitutions is on pep, but even then, big decision went against us and pep didn't miss a sitter (or pen against spurs either) or concede the 3rd.
And in all four, enough was done to win them, the tiniest of margins decided them, and the players fought till the end in every one. Heck pep's reactions on the touchline (ripping at grass in despair at lyon, holding his head vs spurs etc et) shows how much he cares about it.
I genuinely doubt our owners are daft enough simpletons to see our champions league 'failure' in those selective daily mail headline for the lowest common denominator terms. Other fans and pundits can chose to latch onto that, but we bloody shouldn't.
Some dicks on this forum !!!Utterly bizarre, IMO, that anyone would want him not to extend: have you seen his record at our club?
The daily mail has it in for pep and city In general

I do think that you are being overly defensive though in respect of football criticism of Pep. He messed up in a very important moment but that does not mean that he is not a great coach. Clearly after the immediate aftermath of the Lyon fades you review his entire management of the first team and you can conclude that is hugely positive.
There's no contradiction between supporting Manchester City and being critical from time to time of the coach's decisions. We do that all the time in respect of the players, owners, and fans.
Human beings have faults and it is not a breach of loyalty to acknowledge that, indeed part of being a football fan is to act as the guardians of the football club rather than as blind cheer-leaders.
By not acknowledging that Pep's set up of City v Lyon back-fired.Perhaps thats fair, but sorry, in what way am i being defensive of pep?
i am pointing out the achievements many seeem to want to be quick to forget, and challenging the distilling down of our champions league exits (in knockout stages no less) to just pep being useless.
I also don't buy the 'well with the money spent, we Shold be winning it, and Obviously we win trophies with the squad weve got' spoonfed mantra. Fuck that. that is liverpool fan talk, and their media mouthpieces to big up klopp's achievements and belittle ours. Klopp had 5 full years of absolutely zero scrutiny, spending what he wanted, record sums for players, before he even came close to winning a single trophy, heck qualifying for champions league places was praised as success because he was 'building a team' ffs, with the claimed draw of anfield and money they have could have built four teams in that time! Yet we sweep up domestically, achieving things never seem before, and our manager is a failure because well, you'd expect that success we bought, oh and we failed to win one cup trophy. Balls to that.
