I would suggest, other than a massive fall out on the football side, only a family related incident/issue could upset the applecart right now - whats the general situation with Mrs Pep and the Peplet(s)?

I missed that myself. Khaldoon is Chairman of City (and of CFG?), it's Soriano who is CEO of City. That plus the fact that Stone isn't likely to get any exclusive from City should have immediately flagged it as bollocks.

He is saying that in the context of beyond next season, so he does mean years, it isn't a mishap. He doesn't need to sit and talk to the club about the next year, that's already happening per his contract.
