I would have thought that publicly City and Pep would leave an announcement until the end of next season if he were to leave. Ferguson and Klopp are good examples of how it’s not a good idea to annouce early.

If - big if - Pep is leaving and Arteta is in play we'd be insane not to ask the question. It's just about the best succession going.Some won’t like this, but Arteta refusing to sign a new deal which finishes in 2025.
