Pep's contract situation

Jack Gaughan seems a nice enough chap when he’s on the blue moon podcast but pound to a penny he’s not got any more clue about when Pep’s leaving than the average fan does

It’s a made up story based on a common sense interpretation of information already in the public domain.

On that basis it’s not really news is it Jack
It’s just a rehashing really

All depends on how we start next season imo. Not really in terms of results, more in terms of how the players respond to winning four titles in a row. If he can sense they're committed he'll probably do 10 years and call it in 2026. If he senses the atmosphere and hunger has dropped he'll probably call time on it all next spring.

At which point we'll know how Xabi Alonso copes as a Champions League manager - if Leverkusen are on for another Bundesliga title and in the last 16 of the Champions League we'll probably take a punt on him. If not we might be looking at Gasperini or Enrique or Simone Inzaghi. Just for 2-3 years. Then we'll plan again.
Once again for those at the back.

I was wondering: surely anyone at the club knows that Pep simply isn't making this decision the day after a long, brushing season and a disappointing final defeat. Pep doesn't know yet. Maybe people get the sense that this time is different, but surely at this point you know well enough not to make assumptions. I doubt Pep will know until November or December time.

It's never going to be the best timing - we'll have to accept that we're bound to drop off into the pack after the once in a generation genius leaves us.....

But....

The squad needs a refresh. The style might need a refresh. Unless Pep can commit to another 3 years (unlikely) then maybe it's time to hand the keys over next year

The media is on the Pep contract situation already that tw*t Ogden was on FiveLive putting all the negativity together to increase it ten fold It’s going to be the new narrative and will be relentless, Pep has to extend even if it’s just for show
Could build up such a head of steam that if he does not extend then it would be best for him to leave sooner rather than later.

We are at a transition / cross roads if pep is not staying at least 3 more years they are not going to spend 200 mil this summer.

They will wait for the new manager

We might need a season to prepare which means a tough season next as we have too many players with one foot out of the door

Hope pep signs & he re builds us again
