I can't remember his exact words but when asked about the Jesus penalty shout said something like there was "incidental contact", then realised what he had said before saying something like there was contact but not enough for Var to class it as a clear and obvious error for Atkinson not to give it.
Basically he made an even bigger twat of himself than he did after the Villa game.
Peter Crouch was in the studio and I don't know how he managed to keep a straight face listening to Walton digging himself into an even bigger hole.
 
He just agrees with every single thing the officials determine.

I get he wants to stand up for his colleagues, but if he's just going to sit there and say they never get anything wrong or excuse the stuff they do seemingly get wrong, then he's a Berk and BT would do well to save their money.

To be fair the other one, Dermot Gallagher on sky, is pretty much the same. Don't admit anything rather than being honest and saying there is a balls up, someone at the var controls needs a talking to.
 
on a side note Southampton have asked that Dean and Mason do not officiate their games after recent decisions given against them. Will Pigmol change their interpretation of the lotg for the rest of the season.
