Phil and Jack on the lash?

At Foden's age, Messi was going out every single night with Ronaldinho and Deco.

He turned out OK.
And fortunately for Lionel, Joseph Guadiola got hold of him and made him into the greatest footballer of all time.

He did similar things to a very unprofessional Kun Aguero.

Ferguson did the same at the rags, it's what great managers and great leaders do.

To put this into context, Mendy has just been charged with yet another rape.

These two lads went out.
There’s no comparison between these two matters.

my only concern is that Foden has now “just” gone out on 2 occasions that we know of & it has affected HIS career each time. Jack the lad has been in the news many times before

I like foden as a footballer but he does come across as being abit of a dickhead.
The whole changing his hair colour for the euros, stories in the past of cheating on his mrs while she was pregnant and constant stories of being out clubbing.

I get that’s he’s a young lad but I hope he doesn’t piss all his talent and potential up the wall.

changing your hair colour and occasionally (havent seen what you’ve said to be true) going out makes you a dickhead. You must think that about a lot of people sound very judgemental

It's about inappropriate behaviour. Different 'levels' obviously, but still inappropriate behaviour that could cast a bad light on the club.

Whatever the behaviour, it seems likely that they were all just irresponsible idiots getting themselves into easily avoidable situations. The club (Pep) quite rightly dealt with Foden and Grealish quickly - The fact that it was not kept in-house suggests that a very dim view has been taken over the event. The Mendy situation, like that with Adam Johnson, will be dealt with by the courts and the club will take appropriate action following the outcome.

Your reference to Joey Barton (another cretin) etc, is no more than a pathetic attempt to make yourself look clever. I would have expected better from you.
Why is mentioning Barton not appropriate when you’ve eluded to Mendy?

You are equating apples with oranges. I merely added a pear.

But they need the players to take heed. Messi & Kun did. Let’s hope Phil listens to Pep & not Jack

Also never understood the very British culture of drinking till your drop, but each to their own.
Mate.

We're a nation of manic depressives. Getting wankered and regretting it through your hungover flashbacks is a way of life.

Back on topic.

Jack is still getting a media kicking today whilst Phil isn't. Press don't like him do they?

As far as I'm concerned the matter is closed and Pep will be keeping an eye on them for a few weeks.

I agree - the press have gone overboard but they’ve both been targeted before & should be aware.
What’s more worrying is the fact that their antics DID affect their career because they were dropped from the team. That is NOT ok
Would they have played at Newcastle had they not gone out?

The unanswerable question.

On your first senior International call up for your country , you would think the last thing on your mind would be looking to shag some Instagram "model" and in your first major tournament dying your hair bright blonde is some serious attention seeking.

In my humble, it's a warning of possible attitude issues and I am glad we have a very strict and fair manager that will get to the bottom of it and quickly.

I think Kun may have continued scoring 25 goals a season whether Pep managed him or not.

Pep didn’t save his career. He changed the way he played.

Newsflash.

Phil has probably been out in between the two times he has been reported to have been out.

He might even have got pissed too.

He made him a vastly better player and IF he had been around earlier in his career , in my opinion, Kun would have been one of the best ever.

We are a nation of sad bastards in terms of drinking.

how on earth have you come to that conclusion. From what I’ve heard foden works as hard as anyone in training. Aguero would regularly turn up late and silva loved a drink.

You clearly come to conclusions very quickly

Its no good being great in training if afterwards you do something that affects your career. As I have already said - he’s been dropped by his National manager & his club manager already at his young age.
That’s not my conclusion- it’s a fact & surely you agree that it has affected his career? He could have had another England cap & further international experience but he was sent home in shame. It affected the club against Newcastle in that they both had to be benched for disciplinary reasons. This is not me drawing conclusions

Fact is they are doing things that have ALREADY affected their careers and reputations

I’m finding the reaction to this on the forum overblown and bizarre. They went out for a few drinks, then got a bit told off and benched the next game. That’s it, it’s done now.

im now reading posts questioning foden as a person, his professionalism, how he won’t go far if he doesn’t change…. Completely exaggerated points. Should they have gone out, probably not, but youd think they had done much worse based on some of the reactions

Jack will as he's moved to football's cancer (us) for a record fee

Guessing that’s because it is allegedly to do with minors. Also, 7 count of rape is pretty much as bad as it gets.
Oh yeah totally agree there both horrendous, but the public need to know details on both cases, so I suppose the media are still waiting for news from Merseyside Police.
