Being trusted to start a league game that matters and actually perform well is a big step up.


Next step is to obviously start a game vs a better side but that will come in due time. Could come at the weekend, if Pep wants to continue resting players for the Champions League. That said it is a semi-final and he'll probably go fairly strong.

He basically played like Dave with a little bit more courage but a bit more carelessness. Fucking amazing to watch.

He’s so good. Love the way he drives forward with the ball and gets into so many good positions to receive the ball. Given David’s decline this year Phil’s not far off overtaking Dave in the pecking order...

Amazing the way he reacted from the corner when he almost hooked a volley into the net.

Apart from that, his general play was superlative. Kev was the best player on the pitch, but Phil ran a very good second. A huge talent who looks almost good enough to play in the England senior team.

He really stepped up in a crucial match.

On another day Foden has two goals and an assist. That touch for his great chance on goal was pure class. I love his drive, he is always looking to move the ball forward and is a serious goal threat.

Phil is going to be a legend for our club, and I believe one of the best midfielders in world football. Patience is key.
