Not great last night but it was a hard game for everyone. Good experience for him.

People picking out Foden as poor last night seem to forget that we lacked penetration and that killer ball right across midfield. He had an ok game but no worse than most of our midfield imo. Leicester were very good defensively. They marked tight. Sane gave us just that little bit of width needed to stretch them more.

He might have struggled last night but the run he made for that chance at the start when he ghosted into the area between the center backs was sensational. That was peak Scholes or Lampard. You can’t coach that, it’s instinct and considering how little time and space we had throughout the game that is a sure fire sign that he’s gonna be a superstar.

Fantastic young player who’s gained even more experience. Struggled a bit last night, but then so did most. The biggest games he’s played aswell

Great to see him starting

Wasn't the game for a young player who has played sporadically all season. It seems to take him some time to get into the game because of that and last night he just didn't get that as everything was so rushed and frantic in midfield.

He'll be much better when he is getting proper regular run outs. Young lad built like a cocktail stick against physical specimens like Ndidi are always going to struggle. It's the main reason why he should be afforded patience in his development. There are hiding places out on the wing but in the middle, there is nowhere to hide

He would have picked up some very valuable experience last night that will make him a better player. Worked out well. We won and he played in a very high pressure match.

Games where players have good games in midfield for us they’re up at 90+ touches (David Silva 94 at Old Trafford), they are constantly involved

Remember that incredible, MOTM, 3 assist performance vs. Spurs 2 weeks ago from Kev? 65 touches. According to you crap metric that wasn't a good performance.

Touches are meaningless, especially in a game where the other 2 midfielders are Gundogan and Silva, who are already doing the job of being constantly on the ball. What we needed was someone trying to make runs into the box, to try and drag defenders around, to get on the end of stuff.

That's what Foden tried to do, and as a result he was more of a second forward for stretches - in fact when Pep took him off Sterling went up top with Aguero and we played 424.

Yesterday was a fine performance from him. He was excellent off the ball, he did a lot of donkey work needed when we were in possession and a few times the ball ended up at his feet with a bit of space, he did some nice thnigs, even if he couldn't quite nail the final pass.

In a game where Aguero, Sterling, Silva, Bernardo, Sané all missed opportunities to make the decisive play of the game and we got bailed out by Kompany, Foden will be right at the bottom of the list of people who Pep has complaints about.

It’s also worth noting that Foden covered more distance vs Spurs than any other player on the pitch, and he didn’t even play the final 5 minutes. And for all of David Silva’s extra touches, he hasn’t scored since New Years Eve, whilst Foden has scored 6 in the same period (in far fewer minutes).

Thank you for saving me some time, Dom.
