No need for him to be rushed into the England squad (or play too much for us) until he's physically ready.

He's getting stronger but IMO he's still got some way to go and this stage is the most important to prevent any potential long-term issues.

These young talents need protecting as otherwise they'll end up like Michael Owen and suffer from recurring problems. Rooney ended up looking like a 35 year old at 25 because of playing too much, too soon with enormous pressure.

On the positive side, the club are doing a brilliant job with him and he's an incredible footballer. He'll be up there with the very best if he keeps developing.

Nothing to do with the cigs, alcohol & granny shagging then ?

Just think if he was playing for the scousers or the rags he be in the full England squad be on the back pages every week saying he will be the best england player ever lived and take england all the way in all competitions.

A single month beyond his 19th year and, including the French lads,he was the best player on the pitch.

So impressive....the world really is at his feet.

While everyone gushes over Foden's goal (admittedly amazing), his overall game in that game was not appreciated, he ran through France like butter on several occasions, and gave Englands forwards so many great through balls that they squandered.
