Phil Foden to leave England camp

Give over, that's rubbish. So you're telling me you always made good decisions at 19/20 ? He's a good kid who's made an error of judgement so if you dont mind "oh holy one" I'm going to stick by him. Besides he's a City lad through and through...remember that, not too many around like him.

and I don't give a toss if I've just been clarkied. In fact I suspect I have because I can't quite believe a so called City fan would give up on one of the clubs own that's such a special talent.
Foden was the one who broke the COVID protocol rules; not any of us posting on here.

He deserves all the flack flying his way.

He can play the “bad decision when 20” card all he wants if he’s a single male. The problem I and many others seem to have is that he’s got a baby and a mother at home. That comes with additional responsibilities at any age.

And it’s not about being the morality police. I know a lot of these players are not the best humans but If you insist on viewing it only from the perspective of how it affects City, we now have a young player who may have destroyed his home life and who knows how that impacts him on the pitch.

Edit: That isn’t to say he should be done with England or shouldn’t wear our shirt. Just that this is not a minor “boys will be boys” transgression

I'm very surprised at Phil doing this. And I wonder how he's gonna explain it to his partner.
She must've been very proud to watch him represent his country the other day.
Probably not now.

I've had all day to think this over and I have softened a little.

Everyone fucks up.

I am not that far off of the age of Phil Foden. Throughout my life I have fucked up countless times. Very few of them have been with the intent of hurting or upsetting anyone. If Phil was my mate, I would hate the idea that he judges me on my fuck ups.

Phil should not have let those women in his room. End of. That was a fuck up.

Would I have done the same? Probably no.

Does that give me the right to judge him? No.

Foden is a remarkably talented footballer. Will this situation change that? I doubt it. I still believe and hope he has a long and successful career. I feel for his family and especially the mother of his child. They don't have it easy right now. Neither does Phil- he has a difficult and very upsetting path ahead of him. He'll come out the other end like Terry, like Rooney et al.

He's probably a big part of the future of the club we all love. This mistake does not change that. I only hope it never happens again.

Thanks.

"An error of judgement" ?
Having a plan to book an extra room unbeknownst to the manager and staff ?
If Phil was a United or Liverpool lad you'd be ripping him to shreds lol.

No actually I wouldn’t. Mistakes happen, it’s not anything criminal. Sounds like they were there for Greenwood and Phil stupidly joined in. He’s apologized and will have to suffer the consequences and try and patch it up at home. Have some perspective for goodness sake.

Ahh so it was all Greenwoods fault, he planned the whole thing and Phil just joined in.

Here's me thinking of the massive sense of pride and thankfulness in being chosen to play football for my country would've encouraged me to follow whatever rules were laid down by the manager and his staff.
Your not a child at 20.
