Piccadilly Gardens

Also remember the wooden animals in the Arndale Centre we used to climb on as a kid. I think one was a Rhino and they had a few more, possibly an elephant.

Remember the old bus terminal in Picc Gardens which would reak of p*ss, especially in the summer. Banged a bird in the bushes in Picc Gardens when i was 17. Met her in The Shakey, she was a beast!

I walked through Piccadilly Gardens at about 5.30 this morning on my way to the station and had to almost step over two winos who were comatose on the footpath

Do you ever see that little old chinese woman doing her tai chi exercises?

That brings back memories - there was a rhino outside Mothercare.
One of them you could climb right through, an the other you could stand up in the middle (think that was the elephant)

memories.......

And that tall cage in the Arndale with all the birds (the feathered variety!) in it. Wasn't it located where you turned to head to where the market used to be (there was a record shop on that corner on the upper level; can't remember the name of it though)?

I do the CCTV footage at the gardens, avoid at all costs. Don't ever let your kids in those fountains.

That before it becomes something resembling a Somalian refugee camp a little later then....?

Its not that bad.
There's not as many winos as the old one for starter. It is always rammed with people as soon as the weather is decent. Just sitting on the grass in the sun or eating there dinner.
So its doing it's job really what else do you want from a bit of green in the city centre.
Its full of people now and its not even that sunny.
