fantastic pictures , just how i remember the rag fans , i was at the " denis law " derby in 74 in the scoreboard end , it was one of the genuinely scary moments in my life , i was 15 with my silk city scarf tied around my wrist and a rag fan singled me out and run his finger across his throat as if to say " your dead " ..these pictures and scarves and badges bring back some amazing memories.. i reckon i was the biggest mard arse ever to wear doc martins

Great pictures!
I lived on Upper Lloyd Street in those days, was only a nipper, but can just about recall folks looking like that.
I especially love the daft rag with a crappy 'red devil' tattoo and 'Man Utd is a religen' written on his butchers coat. They were just as thick back then too...

Brilliant. Spotted Stretford Blue Rob Lapsley. loved every minute of being a young supporter back then. Do the teens to 20 odd year olds, still start getting excited about the match by friday teatime?

Take it like the rest of the city fans you didn't stay there too long after the first pitch invasion. Most city fans ended up in the paddock ... can still remember the United fans going mental as they realised they were going down irrespective of the result. Happy if scary day.
