Pictures of your Dog

Had to let my lad go last night, had a bit of a tumble down some concrete steps a couple of weeks ago, then 3-4 days later started to struggle on his walks scraping his claws, seems he may have exasperated a nerve problem in his back and started to lose use of his left hind and front leg, so sad as he was in great health two weeks ago to seeing him at the end, so prefer to try and remember him for being the lovable, lazy, greedy sex pest he was.

For anyone considering getting a dog, please don’t be put off by getting an older rescue (with a sound temperament), he was brilliant and I don’t regret a single day, not saying he didn’t have any challenges, which is always likely with a hound (following its nose, finding the most obnoxious smelling things he could find to eat), but he was genuinely a wonderful little dog and he’s left a very big hole in my life.
It's coming up to a year since we lost Zero, our recue collie. About 2 years before he was diagnosed with a heart condition. Ended up on medication costing £200 a month. Good news was the insurance company paid 75% of this & also never raised our premiums. However, would have paid it in full if they hadn't. In the end though it got too much for him & was the worst feeling ever seeing him go to sleep. Every day I still miss him & shed a tear. To think it took my wife & son months to persuade me we needed a dog.

Sally on the left is blind and the smallest from the litter .. she’s 9 yrs now and beau is on the right who’s just the most loyal amazing dog helped me get through so much, heart goes out to all who’ve lost there’s . Never take a day for granted to have these two.

The story of Sal was she was ( I hate this word) the runt from litter and was 90% blind but there was two more from the same litter perfectly born but … wasn’t leaving Sal behind. Never looked back with the girl part of the family.
Took a week if that for her to get used to the house and furniture with her sight . We don’t even notice she’s blind you honestly wouldn’t know.

Condolences to Dirty Harry and Ganganvince, you gave your dogs the best life.

I know there is another thread about vets fees but they really take the piss. Henry has got a small cyst on his paw that flared up tonight. Emergency vets in Macclesfield charged us £275 just to see him and after meds the bill was £389! We will only pay an excess of £100 with the insurance but I don't understand why the prices are so high.20220723_231323.jpg

That’s really sad Richard, you get so used to them just being around, and I know what you mean with that last bit, I was really against getting another dog as the other Beagle was a real handful, in the end I agreed on the grounds we get an older one with extremely limited chances of being re-homed (ex wanted a young little cute thing zzzz) without question, one of the best decisions I ever made.

We had Zero from 18 months until he passed, 1 day short of his 19th birthday

That’s a great age mate, especially if he was still able to get about to then, funny because as things go through your mind, I was thinking I’d happily give him a year of my life if it were possible, sure that thoughts crossed many of our minds when things are desperate.

Meet Oak a lovely Dog with lots of attitude, she was liberated from a puppy farm on late January, found in a container in a field in the middle of nowhere! No mixing with other dogs just a single human who came to feed her and take her away to be basically raped when ready. She's two and half years old and has had a number of litters.Shes doing really well now living with Buddy and eight year old beagle/Pointer cross.Hes a Brilliant dog lovely temperament.I got him form Cyprus where he literally "Danced for his dinner" on the all inclusive hotel complex, until he was finally caught.Again he was saved from the insinorator. We've had him for four years.
