Pirlo for free?

hes not a substitute for silva, hes a substitue for barry! pirlo is just as good at tackling/making space as barry, is a better passer, a better shooter, and really isnt much slower or older than barry. and think about what he can teach a player like yaya. yaya was a great young talent, then got to spend a year learning from patrick vieira and then from pirlo? imagine this lineup!

-------------------------hart------------------------
--richards/zaba---kompany--boateng/kolo-----kolarov-
------de jong/barry/milner---------pirlo/yaya----------
silva/johnson/roman-------------------pastore/assaulin
----------tevez-----------dzeko/balotelli--------------

that is a side that could challenge for champs league title, imo

in: pirlo, pastore (35 mill?)
out: vieira, jo, adebayor, swp, weiss (20-25 mill)

a 10 mill investment makes us look a lot stronger, imo. compared to however many hundreds of millions weve spent so far, thats value
roman?

Joan Angel Román.

Great young prospect, along with assaulin, currently in our EDS.

i definitely think he is the last in the pecking order in midfield, but i could see him seeing out a cup tie. he's going to be 18 in a couple months, i dont see that as too early. is he starting in the champs league? no. could he start against scunthorpe? maybe.

think about the jack wilsheres and josh mceachrans who are impressing right now in the prem league. same age.

I totally agree Pirlo should be competition for Barry. De Jong doesn't come into it and is pretty much undroppable in any even vaguely important games.
