Pitch invasions

Don't agree.
The politely told everyone several times not to on and people just disobeyed it.
Its also a criminal offence.
Maybe the message will sink in 1 day when a player gets hurt or injured coming off from a pitch invasion that puts them out of a final.
I'd ban the lot of you for several games.
Adults running on a pitch, absolutely pathetic.
Those announcements was all for show, if they meant it they would have put a physical deterrent in place, the stewards who stand right in your way all game and dont let you so much as touch the advertising boards at the front all fucked off as we hit injury time and practically invited people on. There really wasn't an overwhelming number of people desperate to get on at first. Most just went on once there were too many on for it to matter, for the sake of it instead of watching.

End of the day for those that didn't go on it was a 10 minute wait hardly worth moaning about is it?

Sorry to be the pedant (not really) but only time we played Stoke or Derby on the last day in the 70s was Derby away in 1972…

We did play them away three games before the end in 1980, though.

Have checked btw - even my memory isn’t that good!
it was THEIR last game not ours probably around 1977,78,or 79 and Stoke was just an away game mate.....

lots of clubs went on the pitch last game back then. Just no CCTV of it or phones etc

someone else will remember it...one of our lot got arrested after running into the Derby lot on the pitch on his own.

Lot of fuss about nothing. 10 minute delay is neither here nor there. I got the impression that all the announcements and extra stewards were to show the Premier League that the club was doing all they could to avoid an pitch invasion in order to prevent a fine, whereas in reality they knew it would happen and didn’t try very hard to stop it.

That's a lot of fuss about 50 pages of commentary. During which incidentally nobody has come up with a single positive or worthwhile reason to have done it today. The most promising one being 'just let twats be twats, the club can pick up the bill'.

It was embarrassing. But at least it was over pretty quick. Unlike the comments here justifying it, which are getting quite Liverpool level of celf-centred now. So I'm getting out of this thread before it sours a pretty good day.
